HAN River Residence & Guesthouse — Hotel in Seoul

Very deceiving fotos and misleading information. You cannot cook in the rooms and the access to the kitchen area is hindered due to inconvenient opening hours which is After 10.30 in the morning! And is closed at random times like when staff is watching movies! There is coffee from a machine but you cant have coffee unless you wait until 10.30. There are two dogs and two cats strolling all over the kitchen so if you are allergic afraid or simply put off by the idea of hairs on your plates and cups,, rethink!!! Found a multilegged insect crawling on the room floor during nighttime! Staff /management are unhelpful (nearly useless), unfriendly, look down on guests. Place is full of warning signs and you get 5 emails before checkin with stressful rules and regulations. The rooftop is in a devastating condition, old flooring. No sufficient lights to see during the evening. Inconvenient location far from any food places, supermarkets and is on a hilly area. Either you come by bus or metro you need to climb for 10-15 mins and even if you are fit , its a pain especially since you have been...

Stayed at the guestroom for 5 days. My experience was okay and the room was spacious. Clean towels, useful amenities, and most importantly, there was a luggage storage which was really helpful for me as I arrived in Seoul hours before check-in time. The downside of this guesthouse though is the location — you have to walk uphill for a good 10 minutes from Mapo station and there isn’t much establishments nearby. I was getting tired from bringing my luggage up the road so I checked my phone to see if I was close to the guesthouse and I actually was, but saw the last pathway I’d have to climb up (see photo attached 🥲). It was especially dreading for me to walk going back to the guesthouse after a long day of going around the city 😅 Services were okay and I was told to contact them whenever I needed anything, but the location is truly a disadvantage especially if you’re older or if you have luggages...

My trip was in October 2019 and I did really really enjoy in here. When I arrived to Seoul and I realized I had forgot all of my money in my country. The host, who was accepted me to charge in the day later. That was so kind of her for understanding. I’m really appreciate about the service also. Honestly, every staff in Hanriver Guesthouse are so beautiful with good service. you guys did really good. The transportation always ready. Especially , Subin - a guy tried to help me where I could hire a bycicle. I really appreciate his best service and friendly.||I’m interested with the host is an artist.
