Hotel del Val — Hotel in Andújar

I have just spent seven nights here on business and had I been able to find anything else in town believe me I would. The swimming pool was without question its only saving grace and even then eight new sun beds only arrived halfway through my stay, the shabby broken ones still in place, and quite clearly not nearly enough for the coach loads of Dutch tourists who arrived on a daily basis|I have two main gripes, the first being a hotel in Andslusia in June, 30 degrees plus, and no fridge in the rooms! If there had been then I wouldn't have to have tolerated the disgusting , poor quality breakfasts. This being my main reason for the review|All the meat and cheese on the breakfast buffet was of the cheapest possible quality and in my 16 weeks so far in Spain this year quite the worst. The 'orange juice' (100%!!! Don't make me laugh!) was sugar water yet in the cafeteria they had the real thing (which I didn't feel I should have to pay for!!) ditto the coffee, tepid, from an urn and without question a cheaper version of Nescafé. To be fair I have to list the good points about my room. Most importantly I had one of the six fridges in the hotel (room 118) and the room was quiet and had a brilliant shower. I know the room was quiet as I had to open the windows at night to get some breeze as the air conditioning was non existent despite asking reception to check it for me. If they did anything it was not noticeable.||The breakfast was poor. As I read other reviews I took my own tea so can't comment on the coffee but was told by a colleague that it wasn't too bad but the portions served were small. Hôtel avec un design ancien mais globalement très agréable. Cependant, lorsque nous sommes arrivés avec ma compagne, nous avions l’impression que notre présence n’était pas vraiment réjouissante. Ajouté à cela le fait qu’aucunes informations sur le fonctionnement de l’hôtel nous a été transmis (horaires ouvertures des services etc). Une fois à l’intérieur de la chambre, le lit est très confortable et assez spacieux, il y a un grand bureau où poser des affaires et une armoire plutôt grande. Au niveau de la pièce où dormir, disons qu’il n’y a rien à redire. Par contre, les problèmes arrivent au niveau de la salle de bain. Nous avons pris une douche de manière tout à fait normal, et premièrement si l’on veut avoir de l’eau chaude, il faut savoir que la pression de l’eau est extrêmement faible, et rien de plus désagréable que de se doucher sans avoir de pression. Deuxièmement, à notre grande surprise, lorsque nous avions terminé, l’eau de la douche avait complètement inonder la pièce, et en effet lorsqu’on regarde les joints au niveau du sol, ils étaient décollés. Je veux bien qu’il y ait des défauts mais la moindre des choses c’est de nous avertir afin de faire plus attention. Nous avons dû mettre une serviette pour éviter que l’eau sorte pour les utilisations suivantes. De plus, il est important de savoir que le matin il y a beaucoup de bruits dans les couloirs, les personnes ne se privent pas d’élever la voix, ce qui est très désagréable. Ensuite, au niveau des services que propose l’hôtel, nous avions décidés de nous rendre à la piscine le samedi en début d’après-midi, premièrement il faut savoir que celle-ci n’est pas ouverte tout le temps, les horaires sont à l’espagnol donc il faut faire attention (ex : pas ouvert au milieu de l’après-midi) et deuxièmement, point que je trouve le plus inadmissible, on nous informe que l’accès a été privatisée pour une occasion particulière. Donc nous payons un hôtel avec piscine quand celle-ci est privatisée par des personnes extérieures ? Nous avons donc pu profiter de la piscine que le dimanche matin et pendant un court instant puisqu’il fallait rendre les clés à 12h. Également, en tant que français et pas forcément habitués au rythme espagnol, nous avons voulu prendre un petit verre au bar aux alentours de 12h mais celui-ci était fermé, quelle déception.
