We stayed over at Barcelona Century Hotel for 7 days and absolutely loved it.|Firstly, the staff was incredibly polite and understanding. Always said hello and goodbye as soon as we showed up in the lobby, no matter how many timed we would walk through it throughout the day. We were met with an external issue one time that we had to inform the staff about and they reacted rapidly, which we appreciated very much. |Secondly, the room we were given was fine. While I can see why its size could've been a problem to some, it was spacious just enough for me and my family and it didn't bother us at all. The street view wasn't anything too spectacular, however we enjoyed it regardless. |Thirdly, the breakfast was fantastic! Delicious coffee - I especially recommend the cappuccinos. Those who aren't fond of sweet breakfasts may dislike it, though - there aren't much neutral or sour foods to choose from (just ham, cheese, eggs, bacon and bread). It's mostly pastries, doughnuts, cereals, yoghurts, fruits and such. I personally have a liking for sweet breakfasts and everything was tasty. |Lastly, excellent location! The hotel is not far from Passeig De Gracia and La Rambla. Quite a way to the sea, but honestly Barcelona is so beautiful that there is no need to complain - while on the way there, you'll get to see most of the city's architectural gems and tourist attractions. |To conclude, if you're looking for a nice hotel in Barcelona at a fair price, this is the one :) |Thank you to the staff for such enjoyable experience, hope to visit the...
Read moreThis is a pretty good hotel in the middle of the city, which is walking distance to most of the central sites, shopping areas. This is not a FANCY place by any means. The lobby is VERY small, their breakfast area fits about 20 people total, they don’t have room service, and the rooms are not very luxurious. With that said, I really enjoyed my stay. I arrived early on the day I was supposed to checkin, but my room was not ready. They were accommodating to hold my luggage while I walk around the city for a few hours while the rooms get ready. The rooms are comfortable, just not extravagant. The breakfast in the morning was actually pretty good. They had the same things available most each day. Eggs, Bacon, Croissants, Fruit, muffins, cake, bread, yogurt, cereals, juices, coffee, etc. Enough items that you can have a different breakfast each day.
What I really liked about the hotel was it was far enough from all the touristy areas that you can walk outside and enjoy places that locals frequent. Local shops, stores, grocery, restaurants, etc. But the hotel is close enough that you can walk to all the tourist sections as well. I walked everywhere from here and never needed a taxi my entire time in Barcelona.
Great hotel for both business travelers as well as traveling...
Read moreI stayed just one night. The room was old but refurbished. I particularly like the brand-new bathroom, with an excellent shower. It is BCN, so as one could expect the rooms are relatively small. Perhaps it is problematic to stay there if you are travelling with a big trolley. The room was quite (which I think is important in BCN), but some people were talking aloud at about 1:00am in the corridor. They wake me up (this is something I dislike about Spain: people speak super loud). Perhaps the worst part is breakfast. Mine was included in the room price (although they advertise it at 5 euros, as a special offer). They served me orange juice, two cold toasts with butter/jam, and some sort of processed bun/scone that I gently refused. That's it. I guess the 5-euro breakfast does not include anything else, as the lady did not ask me if I want something else. Obviously, it is not worth it at all. I understand that these are complicated times for breakfast buffet, but properly heating a toast and/or asking to a guest if she/he wants something else is not that complicated (and definitely would increase the guest's feeling about the friendliness of the staff members). Hope this...
