Hotel Costa Brava — Hotel in Blanes

Centrally placed hotel, ideal for the town and beach also buses from the railway station stop outside. We stayed out of season so the place was not busy but in November we still found that there were more guests than we expected. There is a swimming pool on the roof but closed during our visit plus there is a bar which is open to non-residents but with a very limited offering of snacks, basically only sandwiches and cakes. ||Our room was clean and comfortable with a balcony but breakfast seems to be the big event here with a wide range of cooked items and just about everything imaginable that one might want for breakfast. A few oddities: there was a notice on the door exiting the breakfast room which instructed guests not to take any food away from the premises. This was solely in English, so it was obviously OK for Spanish and Catalan speakers, who made up the majority to stock up, or perhaps it was considered such a despicable activity that would never enter their heads. Another oddity was the television, running through the channels there was a wide range of English speaking ones coming up but none of them worked, all other foreign language channels such as German etc did. We asked at reception about this at least 3 times, but all they said was that they would look into the problem, but as expected nothing happened There was no kettle in the room -so bring your own, but we did find a safe, however to use it there was €20 charge for the 5 nights we were there, plus a €10 key deposit. ||On the plus side we did get an early check-in and the bed was comfortable and if you want a mammoth breakfast then this is the...

It is not the best hotel, but actually offers enough for it´s price, We were in the busiest time - Saturday night in July, as a couple. We arrived very early and there was a convenient luggage room. the receptionist was very cooperative and helpful. The room itself is not very big, we booked a double bed standard room(highest price on Saturday 90 € but a lot cheaper than the other hotels), on all pictures it shows a false length of the bathtub - it is half of the length of the pictures shown. I personally checked also the superior room 20 euro more a night and the bath tube was absolutely the same size. the room is ok, nice small balcony, but the bathroom curtain was in a horrible condition, super old and dirty and disgusting , that was the worse and the bathroom in the standard room is really small! the bed is very big - double comfortable bed and the AC was great - really old and a bit noisy but I did not care...in the heat it SAVES you! The location is perfect - really close to the city centre but on a quite street, do not expect any city/sea view it is in the middle of the city.. There are convenient shops and grocery to buy nearby, however now fridge in the room. The breakfast was good - I loved the orange juice and the hot kitchen. There was a variety and well prepared, the sweet things were not the best however and I missed the good Spanish descafeinado from the machine. Just returned home from a 3night stay at the Costa Brava Hotel in Tossa De Mar.Havent been 3star for along time so wasnt sure what to expect but to be fair We were pleasantly surprized.Very friendly staff and very helpful,Lovely clean rooms with adequate facilities,hairdryer,mini fridge(not stocked),tv with some english channels,a safe which we didnt need to use.Air con(worked a treat).Good facilities at the hotel,swimming pool,gym,jacquzzi,table tennis,massage chairs(1euro charge)mini club for kids,quizzes for familys.internet(payable).||We went full board but just outside the hotel were lots of cafes and restaurants offering cheap good food offers so maybe next time we go b&b as to be honest although there was a good selection of food it wasnt always very hot(shame really).||On the whole a safe, secure and clean hotel only a 5minute walk to the beautifully clean shingle beach(jelly shoes or crocs definately recommended)in a quiet unspoilt area.Frequent buses to Barcelona and lloret de mar depart close to the hotel.lloret de mar cost 3 euros 50 return bargain.Nice little train goes around the town not sure how much this cost as didnt use it,ideal if you want ti keep little ones amused though.||Would we stay here again?Yes for a get away from it all break with no...
