Lovely view ,there are lots of stepts that you can take as a shortcut not ablr to see the on google maps ,you will swet alott as we did as well but once you re there at the top and your knees or legs arebwobbling your eyes will rejoyce the marveleus view.this is a must visit if you are in Blanes. The castle stands at the top of the mountain of the same name at 172 metres, offering a magnificent view of the whole of Blanes and the neighbouring villages. The structure of the castle consists of a cylindrical tower of 15 metres surrounded by a moat and a rectangular walled area. Documented as early as 1002, it was called Forcadell. It was clearly designed to defend the Viscounty town from the dangers that...

The oldest structures of the Castle dating back to 11-12 century it was built as a protection against maritime incursions by the pirates. It has seen a fair share of battles,it was attacked by France in 1285 and Geonese troops in 1332.The watch tower is 18metres high and it was built in the 16th century. It was bombarded in 1805 by the British Navy which destroyed forever a fortification that has stood proud for more than 7 centuries. Two violent storms hit the Castle in 1840 and 1923 destroying even more walls. It is a wild guess but I reckon that hole in the wall is were the British Navy hit. With so much history and the most magnificent 360 views of the sea,the marina and Blanes it's the best...

First of, the drive to this location was phenomenal. If you enjoy winding, tight roads this was perfect. The coastal and city views that pop up along the drive up are incredible and breath taking. The site itself is gorgeous. Well maintained and clean, this site offers amazing views of the marina and beach front below as well as a great view over the city proper. The stairways and landings provide great photo spots for those seeking Instagramesque pictures as well as the professional photography. The view from the top landing is a 360 perspective unmatched anywhere else in the city. Go and enjoy this...

Beautiful view over the Blanes. Bit messed with graffiti, but the view is anyway the main attraction. Easy to get there and if you are lucky you can park your car just to the main gate, otherwise I recommend to leave the car littlebit more down and walk up to the castle by the road or by the stairs on the other side of the hill. There is also marked hiking road all the way up which I didn’t take. IG:isahiltunen
