This was my second stay at this hotel and this time I was staying for 7 nights, overall it’s a fantastic hotel and aesthetically pleasing with its fantastic location, structure and facilities.
The room I was in was for 3 people and we each had a single bed which gave me a pleasant sleep each night, the bathroom is very nice with a large mirror and 2 sinks and the toilet is in a separate room inside the bathroom which even had a bidet (which I did not use). One thing which was a bit annoying throughout my stay was the shower, it had 3 functions which were an over head shower a hand shower and a bath filler. The problem I had was that the water always leaked off the side if you use the proper shower because there was no barrier and the surface was flat so the water just flowed like a waterfall onto the floor. It was a bad design and it was inconvenient having to spray myself by hand every day when there is a perfectly functioning shower right above my head. I only ate breakfast at the hotel because the surrounding area of la manga club had plenty of wonderful restaurants to experience (La Cala, La Barra, Dante’s and La bodega) were the ones I went to. The breakfast is one of the best out of any hotels I have been to with pretty much everything you’d want, they have a full English, wide selection of pastry’s and bread, meats cheeses, cereals, fruit, nuts, yoghurts, different juices and detox smoothies, fully functioning coffee machines with takeaway cups which was nice and even champagne. There is also always a chef who will make you anything you want behind the kitchen bar. The staff who do the breakfast service are all very nice and professional they seat you straight away and make sure that no empty plates or bowels are left at your table for longer than 1 minute the only negative was that I had the scrambled eggs every morning and I found them quite flavourless so I liked to add my own seasoning but 5/7 times there was no salt or pepper on our table so I couldn’t enjoy it as much as I’d have liked to but I’m not complaining, overall it was impressive. Another part of the hotel which I loved was the the entrance and the reception. The carpark, the front of the hotel and the reception is stunning and when you walk in it’s perfectly air conditioned and smells fabulous with shiny floors, lots of daylight and Plenty of space to sit with a nice balcony overlooking the golf course.
There is an outdoor swimming pool attached to the hotel which is pleasant but I only went in it twice, the temperature is perfect. The health club is off site but it’s a short drive into the hills and there is a full gym, 25m swimming pool, spa and outdoor pool (towels provided) I attended multiple times and enjoyed myself.
I recommend the Prince Phillipe and the whole la manga club resort to anyone who likes nice beaches, nice weather, Spanish culture and...
Read moreMy two sons and I wanted a weekend’s golf in the sun and having personally played at La manga approximately 10 years ago and thoroughly enjoyed the experience we quickly settled on 4 nights and 3 rounds of golf.
Whilst I could go in to great detail about the overall appalling customer service we experienced from unhelpful, untrained staff and management, some of whom clearly didn’t want to be there, I will keep this as brief as possible in order that you know exactly what you are getting in to before you decide to book.
We were accused of damaging a golf buggy and charged 600 Euros for damage we did not do. This charge wasn’t communicated to us until THE DAY AFTER we hired the buggy. No matter how much we explained that the buggy was in exactly the same state when we returned it as it was when we drove it away, they wouldn’t listen. We explained that the buggy was not checked by a member of staff BEFORE we drove it away; the buggy area was extremely busy and we were told to hop in the buggy as soon as the previous golfers got out. We also explained that when we returned the buggy that evening there was not a member of staff in sight so it wasn’t checked on our return either. Nevertheless we were told that because we were the last people to use the buggy we would be charged for damage that was done. Damage that was done by someone else.
They wrongly accused us, wrongly charged us, but couldn’t provide any proof to back up their claims because their buggy changeover system is fundamentally flawed. We spent most of the last day of our £3000 holiday trying to resolve the problem with ‘Chad’ the Sports Director, only to be told that if we didn’t pay the police would be called!
Words cannot express how upsetting and humiliating this whole situation was. In addition, the golf courses were in a poor state and not a patch on what they used to be; Rock solid brown dying fairways and greens, full of unrepaired pitch marks and divot.
The only positive was that the rooms were good, clean and tidy. However it goes without saying that we would neither return, recommend, nor would I trust La Manga Club under any...
