I went to La Viña with my husband for our wedding night, and after speaking to the owner several times about the possibility of my mother collecting the room keys or us going the day before, we agreed to arrive at 1am and the receptionist would wait for us. Because apparently the room is very complicated to find. On arrival I thanked the lady for waiting for us, and she explained our room was up one flight of stairs and on the right. I tried expressed my surprise at how easy this was.. Due to all the conversations with the owner. The receptionist was super rude, she didn't let me finish a single sentence and kept saying she didn't understand me. I don't speak perfect Spanish, but eventually I lost my patience and told her of course she didn't understand me because she wouldn't let me finish a sentence.! After 5 or 6 attempts my husband told me it was best to go to the room and discuss tomorrow. I started going up the stairs, and the receptionist continued saying never in all her years working there was a bride like this on her wedding night! In all my years staying in various hotels, I've never experienced such rude treatment from a anyone, let alone a receptionist who is paid to assist people, let alone on my wedding night! I actually went downstairs again and apologised for any miscommunication and tried again to say what I wanted to say. She wouldn't let me speak. Instead of enjoying the nice room with my husband, I went upstairs and cried. She made me feel as small as an ant, as if my opinion didn't matter at all. Hotel was great, apart from hairs in the jacuzzi. Worst customer...
Read moreThis was a really pleasant surprise and ended up being one of our favourite hotels that we stayed at in Spain. My wife and I were traveling with 2 children, 8 & 12. Due to flight deyals, we arrived really late. The bartender/waiter went across the street and opened the hostal for us. Its a cozy place that was really confortable. The waiter was very friendly and we ate dinner at midnight in the bar. Jamon and queso sandwiches at midnight in a bar with soccer on, cannot get more Spanish than that.||||The hotel rooms were nicely done and had small plates of candies laid out. A nice touch.||||The breakfast was a huge surprise, I figured it would be very minimal, but it was one of the best we had, only second to a Parador that we stayed in. The hotel employee was very friendly the next morning too. She maid us fresh orange juice and made sure we had everything that we wanted for Breakfast. I felt like the hotel was a real bargain, especially with the great breakfast.||||Convenient to Segovia (15 miles or less) with...
Read moreWe chose this hotel because it was equal distance from the places we wished to visit, Segovia, Avila, and the Valley of the Fallen.||The big attraction (?) is the spa bath in the middle of our room (The Queen's room) I have never encountered such a large bath, Two people have a job to fill it.....||The breakfast was superb and it was altogether a delightful stay!||At night we tried the hotel restaurant opposite, but found more suitable food (and better priced) in the town.||Parking is private and ample next door and we enjoyed our stay at La...
