We’ve just enjoyed a wonderful couples’ getaway at Hotel Altos de Istán. The location is perfect—nestled in nature on the edge of Istán, yet only a short walk to the village center.
The hotel itself is beautiful inside and out, with unique, stylish décor and a spectacular solarium where you can relax and soak in the views.
We also dined at the restaurant and it was an outstanding culinary experience. Our highlight dishes were the smoked sardines on toast, the fillet steak with foie, and the freshly prepared tiramisu. We also enjoyed excellent salmon and squid-ink croquettes, and everything was cooked to perfection.
Most of all, we were touched by the warmth and hospitality of the entire team. José, Cristina, the restaurant staff, the chef, and especially Susana made us feel completely at home and truly cared for.
We’ll definitely be back and highly recommend this gem to anyone...
Read moreI was recommended the restaurant at the hotel by a friend who lives in Istan so we dropped in after a hike. We were very impressed. It’s a lovely boutique hotel and you could get put off as it looks very upmarket however the restaurant and café are very reasonably priced and the reception and restaurant staff are very friendly and welcoming. The location is fantastic with views down over the valley and up into the mountains. Hard to believe this is only 20 minutes away from the madness of the coast. Definitely worth stopping by and far more welcoming than the bars in the square in the centre of Istan. I am thinking about staying here for a weekend. I would recommend the management make more of the café and maybe put up a small sign on the left-hand side of the hotel front where it says “bikes” to guide people around...
Read moreOur family was hiking in southern Spain and were lucky enough to come across Altos De Istan. We decided to stop and reward ourselves with a quick bite and a bottle of wine and were left thoroughly impressed by the hotel, restaurant and staff! The hotel is beautiful inside and out with gorgeous views off the back patio. The bartender/waitress was extremely attentive, the food was fantastic and the hotel manager gave our daughters a private tour of the hotel. If we're lucky enough to find ourselves back in Spain, Altos De Istan will be at the top...
