Bar El Calvario — Restaurant in Istán

It is a great place to eat dinner. We loved the atmosphere. We were served quick and looked after well. We were sitting in the room where there are no windows but the owner lowered the plastic covers over them and we got a heater which was much needed in February. We tried fried octopus, the surprise, and the lamb. Everything was delicious and fresh. As some of our kids learn Spanish they tried to talk or understand words, so thank you for the extra Spanish lesson. You can buy fresh fruit here during the season here. We only got two...

Great place, the kitchen does not have a door - therefore the kitchen is always open! That's a quote by the owner when we asked around 16:00 for hot dishes. We ordered two salads, fried octopus and shrimp-tortillas together with beer and house wine - absolutely fantastic food! While all efforts are made to communicate in half English/Spanish, the owner also takes time to explain Spanish to his guests.

Hoy comimos con unos amigos. La comida casera y buenísima.El trato del señor genial y el ambiente super bien.Las croquetas al pilpil espectaculares, los entrecot grandes y en su punto.
