The La Carolina is set in a quiet residential area of lloret. The beach & shops just a few minutes walk away. The pool is small with plenty of sunbeds we had it to ourselves most mornings before heading down to beach, our room & balcony adequate, shower room fab as been upgraded hi spec, fresh towels everyday & room made up daily... the hotel staff are all very helpful & friendly the only downside was the food it was awful not a lot of choice & the choices were random most mornings of which made us laugh... more choice at the evening meal but most dishes laced in salt so we began to feel like goldilocks & the three bears tried a little something from each trough til we found something paletable. I would go room only as plenty of Spanish eateries close by for very little cost & very friendly also lots of supermarkets where you can make your own baguettes serving lovely cheeses & hams etc. we have been to lloret 7x now & pop along to tossa & blanes on the bus as only 20minutes from lloret bus station. The hostal lloret is a minutes walk down the path from hotel we popped in every afternoon after beach & every evening after our walk all staff knew what we would order from bar when we sat at our usual outdoor table & would speedily arrive with our drinks & complimentary tapas made our holiday complete as such a friendly bunch of hard working lads not to mention cheapest bar in town so we gave good tips. I would recommend this hotel to folks whom wish a very quiet chilled out holiday & the party animals an absolute no no as don't like noise especially later on in the day & night time otherwise you will hear the whistle from the elderly couple that live across the street... if you do go out til the am hours then you have to knock quietly on main door & wait for night manager...

Possibly one of the worst stays we have ever had. This is a 2 star hotel at best. However, I will start with the positives… The hotel is clean. That is it. That’s the only positive I could muster up. ||The staff are rude and speak minimal English. We requested a cot on arrival and were told ok it will be in the room by the evening. We went out came back and no cot, we went to reception, to be told it’s too late now it’s not possible you should’ve asked earlier, WE DID! We also requested a fan as air con was not working, they would not give us anything and basically advised us to open the window (it’s 35 degree heat, that will make the room hotter!)||This is not a family friendly hotel at all, our 3 year old son woke at 8am and watched tv quietly, we had banging on our walls followed by a rude guest knocking on our door telling us to ‘get the child to shut up’ we reported to reception, and they replied ‘we do not want noisy children at this hotel’ !!!! The food was horrendous, all cold and only 4 hot choices (I say hot, it is supposed to be hot but cold even if you arrive first thing to dine) and then salad. It was disgusting. There is no entertainment at all just a bar which is served by the same person juggling working on reception at the same time. There is one tiny pool at the front of the hotel where public walking past a stones throw away from you, no gates so children can run off onto street from pool if you take eyes off them for one second. Only 9 sun beds in total around the pool. No outside bar. The location is close to the beach but very hilly nearby and abit rough looking and run down on the streets surrounding.||My advice would be to stay somewhere else, you can get a much better hotel for your money. We will avoid at all...
