Location of the hotel was very good. Close to the Camino path. The beds were comfortable but the room smelt damp and it was very noisy until late into early morning due to being directly over 2 Street bars. Breakfast was poor. It was only 8.15am. No staff, hardly any cold food and no hot food at all. Majority of tables piled with dirty used cutlery and crockery and even a broken glass. There were no clean plates or forks so we had to go and find help. Only 1 member of staff available and she was on reception. She did provide the forks but we used saucers and bowls. This poor lady seemed to be running everywhere by herself so I was unable to explain about the damp smell in the room. There was also no bin in the bathroom. She had disappeared by the time we checked out so we just left the key on the front desk. Overall, this is not what I would expect from a higher rating hotel. Upon arrival we were told by a different receptionist that it was her last week so she didn't care if we kept our breakfast wristband. This whole attitude seemed to set the whole tone...
Read moreDISASTER. READ THIS ENTRY BEFORE YOU BOOK. CAMINO TRAVELERS BEWARE. We left a negative review after the first night and the hotel then canceled our reservation on Booking so our bad review would not show. They reported to Booking we failed to show up even though we were inside the room for the second day. Booking at our request put the reservation back in place and then the owner cancelled it a second time while we were in the room after we again posted our negative review. Clearly by doing this they are avoiding bad reviews on Booking so their ratings show mostly positive. After another hour online with Booking we were able to leave these facts and review the room. Our complaint was about the air conditioning not working and the room extremely hot. We eventually opened the window at night to the sounds of busy traffic and flies...
Read moreA very nice place to stay in Padron – it’s ideally located for those doing the Camino de Santiago. We were fortunate to get a 4th floor room with outside patio. The room was clean, and the bed while on the firm-side was comfortable. As some have noted, there is no climate control in the room, so you’re at the mercy of whatever the hotel sets the temperature. The weather was on the cool-side when we stayed, and thus cooling-off the room was as simple as opening up the door to the patio. That being said, I can see the lack of personal climate control potentially being a problem later in the summer. The hotel is on a busy street, but street noise with the open window wasn’t a problem as the evening got later. We had leave early the next morning before breakfast, and thus I can’t comment on the...
