Booked 3 nights at "La Fuente" as we were attending a wedding nearby at De Harinas Antigua Fabrica (which was also excellent) and the owner of that venue had recommended it.||Right from the initial contact with Miguel, the owner of La Fuente, the experience was easy and very pleasant.||We arrived very late as our flight was delayed and it took a while to drive from Madrid but Miguel and his lovely cousin Montserrat (Montsy for short) welcomed us with beaming smiles and helped us to settle in. Montsy even managed to get a local restaurant to prepare us some food after they had closed the kitchen.||Throughout our stay Miguel and Montsy did everything they could to make us feel welcome and to provide really helpful information about the local area.||La fuente is a simple but charming little place and the village of Patones de Arriba is full of wonderful old stone buildings with narrow cobbled streets which are very steep in places.||Parking in the village is reserved for residents but there is a free, communal parking area by the recycling bins just below the village.||We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay at La Fuente and would highly recommend it. The place is nice but the people are even nicer. Thank you so much Miguel and Montsy for making our stay such a...
Read moreAfter several cities, sought refuge in this glorious little village just north of Madrid. A stunning, sleepy and tranquil mediaeval town. Found this hotel online, and made contact with Miguel who accommodated us in a charming room, in this carefully restored old stone and timber building. Could have stayed there for much longer, and hope to return some day. Miguel was charming, welcoming and helpful. Because of some technical glitches, I inadvertently paid twice for our accommodation. When I discovered this a couple of weeks later, Miguel was very helpful and prompt in reversing one of the payments.||||An added bonus is the proximity to El Lavadero de Patones, about 40 metres away, highly...
