Belvedere — Hotel in Puigcerdà

We found ourselves on our bikes in Puigcerda as the chills of the night started creeping up and we needed a room pronto. I only caught the "Hostal Rita-Belvedere" signage with the corner of my eye as we were zipped past it chased by the creatures of the Pyrenee'ian night. Stone-walled, towering, yet well rustic/alpine in style - "Hostal Rita-Belvedere" looked like it's worth a shot, but we set ourselves for a steep price-tag. ||||To our surprise, it fit well within our budget, the rooms were spacious, vintage yet finished to a high standard. Very hospitable accommodation. Was given a choice of rooms with views of the mountains. The owner was charming and urbane, giving advice on where to eat and what to see. The place is spotlessly clean. Intended to stay a night, but ended up staying for five. Underground car park very handy. No frills here such as TV in room, and wifi only available in lobby, but frankly it was good not be enslaved by technology. I came to Puigcerda without knowing where i'm going to sleep. After walking around the town for about an hour i was lucky enough to find this place. The hostel itself is sitting at a great place, close to the town center and main attractions, and the view of the valley below is amazing. The owner is very kind, helpful and patient. Breakfast was very good and worth the few more euros added to the initial price. The room was clean and tidy.
