NEGATIVES * || We got an early flight to fully enjoy our first day of our holiday, we arrived at reception around noon to be told that we couldn't check in or get a room until 4pm. After abit more of a discussion we were told our room was ready but we could only have it if we paid €20. We did as we had 2 children, luggage and reception was a complete building site and filthy. ||There are 3 pools, a children's pool which is only a ft deep, a heated pool which is very small and the main large pool which is very cold (which is expected for this time of year) ||The rules are very strict and I wouldn't recommend this hotel if you have children who want to have fun. Children get told off for jumping in the pool from the side. They are not allowed balls, not allowed inflatables etc. You are also not allowed to eat round the pool which isn't good for kids who needs snacks on the go. ||The website says kids club, children's activities and entertainment and adult entertainment - THERE IS NONE OF THIS! ||There is a BBQ on the balcony but you have to pay €3 per day for the key to the padlock and you can't just chose for 1 day, so have to pay €3 per day for the entire of your stay. ||POSITIVES||The room on the other hand was fantastic, we opted to upgrade to the 2 bedroom apartment which is huge. 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, kitchen with everything you need plus dishwasher and washing machine, and the balcony is around 10m x 10m. 6 chairs and 2 sun loungers. ||The pool bar is nice and reasonably priced and they also do take away. ||The supermarket is very expensive but we hired a car for around €35 euros per day and there is a Lidl 10mins drive. ||There is a nice places called San Blas A 10 min walk with plenty of bars and restaurants. ||*OVER ALL ||IF you're looking for a family holiday which is good for kids - this isn't it. ||IF you're looking for relaxing couples / adults break...
Read moreA fantastic resort that's beautifully kept. Peaceful, friendly and certainly a place to wind down and relax after many a hard days work. Reception staff Jose Luis made us feel very welcome and was on hand throughout the evening when calling after failing to recognize where the ON switch was for the tele...(having a 6 yr old, this prooved to be very useful haha). He came to our assistance in a jiffy and hence...a very happy child who could watch his programmes before bed. Teenagers may or may not find this resort for them...mine would as public buses are easy to catch and fortunately he's a 17yr old nature lover. The scenery here is picturesque, with the mountains and views of the spectacular volcano and the well kept gardens and golf course at your door. It has certianly been a haven and my son has almost become a fish with the spectacular pools on site and the walks we've done, I can say that he and I have enjoyed a good nights sleep without harass and begging for him to go to bed at a reasonable hour hahaha. Hats off to all the staff for making our stay (and only half way) so enjoyable. Jose...many thanks for the welcome and attention, housekeeping and maintenance for the beautifully kept 2bd apartment and garden that was immaculately kept and many thanks to David, head of reception and tge manageress for their care and attention when allocating this perfect aptm for our needs. The RTCC has certainly been a wonderful experience that everyone should...
Read moreWe had a 2 bed apartment which was generously sized and had been recently renovated to a high standard. A great size private balcony area too. Kitchen facilities good although very limited space for food preparation - a bit undersized compared to the rest of the generous apartment.||||The staff were welcoming and helpful at all times. On site shop open long hours and had the essentials.||||Location is good if you want to stay in the resort / relax / play golf / use local restaurants. Not so good if you want to go regularly to Los Cristianos for a bit more life/beach, as it's a bit of a drive in traffic each day. ||||Main downside is the pool policy. There are 3 nice pools - main pool, kids pool and relaxing pool. Unfortunately only the relaxing pool is heated to usable temperature (for April) so the main pool and kids pool are hardly used and the relaxing pool very busy. This is a shame and a waste of the potential of the facilities in my view. The kids in the relaxing pool were forbidden from fun activities like jumping in or using inflatables, which isn't great for families as this is the only heated pool. ||||I feel this could be simply solved by at least heating the kids pool so it could be used, and the relaxing pool could also fulfil its intended purpose. I would probably not return on a family trip unless this is resolved.||||Despite the issues of the pool policy I was still happy with the resort overall, hence the...
