We stayed for one week at Can Marti and this will be where we return the next time we visit Ibiza. Why? There are four reasons:||||1. Peace and quiet. We have visited Ibiza for a number of years, not to the cliche clubbing parts but the splendour of the old town in the capital, but we were curious about the quieter and more natural areas of the island. Can Marti is in a valley in the nicest and least tourist-infested portion of Ibiza near the village of San Juan. It really delivered on the rest and relaxation, and in the amazing countryside. ||||2. In tune with nature. The place means what it says when it advertises itself as an organic and chemical-free luxury resort. You can (if you have the kitchen facility) cook with garden-fresh ingredients (the eggs still warm!) available in the small shop on site, or treat yourself to the most delicious cooked breakfast. Nature is respected and welcome, and the swimming pool uses no chemicals to keep itself clean.||3. The integrity of the staff. The joy that Tom, Jill and everyone working there displays shines through and they exude that famous Ibizan relaxed approach to relaxation. ||||4. The rooms are set up with a good deal of privacy and with a very high level of quality and taste. We had a room at the top of the old farm complex, and we hardly left the area the whole week. ||||You can enjoy add-ons such as use of the hammam and massages. Of course, there's a price for all this, but it's really worth it. San Juan is a 10 minute walk, and has two or three good places to eat an drink. Highly recommend. They have 5...
Read moreWhen can I move in??? No seriously: when we arrived, me and my twin sister didn’t leave the domain for two days straight. Can Marti is so peaceful, you’re surrounded by beauty everywhere you look. This place soothes your soul, relaxes your ever-buzzing mind, and brings a sense of calm that you can’t experience anywhere else in the world. We loved loved LOVED the plants, the aromatic garden, the vegetable garden and the green rolling hills that encompass the domain. My sister is a garden designer and couldn’t stop taking pictures for inspiration. My personal favourite was the natural pool, where frogs and birds and other wildlife is happily buzzing around. The food is exquisite, the honesty shop so pretty, the staff super helpful, and e-ve-ry thing is ecological. I’ll never forget the golden glow, the smell of Jasmin when you walk around, and how quickly this place felt as home.
For other HSP: This place is very calm and quiet, especially this time of year. There were times when we were alone at the pool. The beach of Portinatx is also recommended in spring, the people visiting are not the typical tourists.
For other people with IBS: The kitchen in our apartment was very well equipped: Bosch cooker, all the essential pots/pans and cooking utensils you need. The honesty shop also has gluten/lactose free crackers and pasta. The beach of Portinatx is only 6 minutes away (we took the taxi at the church of Sant Joan) and has a restaurant right near the beach where you can eat/drink and use...
Read moreWe stayed in the superior suite for 1 week. The room had it's charms, however, we felt other rooms were more secluded, better vistas and more light / space, this was especially dissapointing as this room is the most expensive out of the 11 rooms - one of the bedrooms beds is too large so you can't get to the toilet / cupboards without climbing over the bed and whilst mezzaine level is beautiful the stairs linking the two floors are extremely dangerous and not fit for children to go up which seems odd given the room is advertised as 'ideal for families' The room could benefit from an extractor fan especially given the kitchen is in the corner of the room. I provided some feedback on site to the receptionist however she didnt provide any comment which was a dissapointing response. I hope Can Marti either makes some changes to this room or reduces the price to reflect it's standing in comparison to the other rooms on site.
The gardens are immaculate and so charming. The food is fantastic and the natural pool was a real highlight. We loved all the chickens and donkeys too!
I think had we stayed in another room then we would of given this 5/5, however, we leave with a slightly bitter taste and think of what...
