We stopped at the Hotel la Coma for two nights during our Catalan Villages hiking holiday. We found the staff incredibly helpful. We arrived looking like drown rats, having been caught for two hours in thunder, lightning, hail and monsoon rain - in July. To our surprise they offered to dry our gear. After we had emptied the water out of our boots, we handed over all of our wringing wet gear. They said they could put it all in the boiler room. Lo and behold, the next day we were able to collect perfectly dry everything. I was amazed that even our sodden boats were stone dry. What a bonus!||Our room was pleasant. The bed was comfortable and there was nice bedding. It was very clean and it had all the usual amenities. There was a balcony and nice views of the mountains. We were there in the first week of July and just about everything in the village was closed for holidays, so we ate dinner at the hotel. The food was excellent, both in terms of quality and value for money. A typical meal for two, including starter, main course and dessert, with a bottle of good house red cost us a mere €52.50. All of the hotel staff were personable, professional and friendly. At breakfast, in addition to the excellent food laid out for us to help ourselves to, they also cooked us an omelette. They are delighted if you speak Spanish and bend over backwards to be nice. Hint: drink your red wine chilled, Catalan style. Drink the house red. It is delicious, refreshing and inexpensive. Drinks at the bar can be a bit pricey. Two G&Ts set me back €22||A word of advice: Locals in Setcases all seem to go on holiday at the beginning of July and just about every single restaurant was closed. We had already quickly learned the word ‘tancat’ – closed. It...
I recently spent three nights at Hotel La Coma with my family, and I can’t recommend it enough. From the moment we arrived, the warmth and hospitality of the team made us feel completely at home.
At the front desk, Anna greeted us with a welcoming smile and was always helpful with local recommendations and thoughtful touches. Her calm, attentive presence set the tone for the entire stay.
In the restaurant, we were consistently impressed by the professionalism and warmth of Xavi, the restaurant manager. His attention to detail, kindness, and thoughtful service elevated every meal into a special experience. And the food! Chef Aleyoa creates dishes that are both comforting and refined — every plate was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented.
Our room was spacious, comfortable, and spotless, with stunning views of the valley and surrounding mountains. Waking up to that scenery each morning was a real highlight.
The hotel’s amenities added to the experience — the indoor pool and sauna were perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring, and the ping pong table provided fun downtime for the whole family. With so many hiking trails and outdoor activities nearby, the location is perfect for anyone looking to enjoy nature at its best.
Hotel La Coma is more than a place to stay — it’s a place where people genuinely care about making your visit memorable. A heartfelt thank you to Anna, Xavi, and Chef Aleyoa for your kindness and excellence. We’ll...
Read moreDon't normally write reviews but felt I had to, because of how bad the food was whilst staying here with my family for two nights the end of February. When we booked we only had an option to go half board, which which made it quite expensive, totally overpriced in my opinion and turned out the food was terrible. So much so that after eating dinner, my stomach felt terrible and was on the toilet for the rest of the night and day after. Never seen food arrive so quick, after ordering. It was like they had pre-cooked everything and just heated it up in the microwave when they received the order. Hotel says it's boutique but it's definitely not. Room was stinking of bleach when we arrived. Will...
