Hotel Lo Foraton — Hotel in Valle de Hecho

What a wonderful mixed bag of experiences for the traveller to enjoy.||Firstly I'll confess that my Spanish is pretty none existent as is my travelling companions, so there was an immediate language barrier. That said, fortunately we are not overly fussy, especially when it is just an over night halt, somewhere to sleep, and hopefully a bite to eat.||Due to travelling arrangements, a pre-warning of our check-in time was not possible, but we arrived at a respectable 18:30 ish. Reception was empty, and several attempts were needed to rouse reception, in fact the receptionist came in through the front door. Check-in was completed, and luggage dropped in the room, I asked the receptionist if there was a restaurant, and they directed me to the Restaurant / Bar Lo Foraton just down the street and mentioned 21:00.||||The Hotel is rated as 2* , never sure how the ratings work, just judge as you find, the public areas were cosy and clean, a little dated, but quite homely and stylish. The impression was that with a little investment, it could upgrade its rating. Our room was on the second floor, however there was a lift, that alone is worthy of the 2*, the room itself was basic and tired, the over bed lights showed considerable former use with their scorch marks from the light bulbs, no worries this time though, one bulb was missing, and the other blown ! No reading tonight !||||Visited the Restaurant at about 19:30 not wishing to miss having a meal, thinking it closed at 21:00 only to find that it didn't open till 21:00 ! Told you our Spanish was very poor, so we did a tour of the town, twice in fact, and the next village, only to finish up back in the bar with only another 45 minutes to wait. So we had a drink, a beer for me and a coffee for her, very reasonably priced indeed, change from a 5€. The receptionist was running the bar, which sort of explains the check-in delay.||||At 21:00 we were guided upstairs to the restaurant, a somewhat limited choice of menu, a starter, a meat, and a sweet with a choice of about three in each category, a bottle of wine,two bottles of water, and bread served with the meal. Very palatable indeed and certainly filled a hole.||||The thundering sound of tiny hooves and sheep-bells being driven ushered in the morning. We arrange to have breakfast in the remote bar, and a fine continental start to the day it was. The bar was quite busy.||||The total bill for our stay was so very reasonable, we have paid far more for just a room let alone for dinner, bed,and breakfast.||||The Town / Village is pretty small, this establishment tries its best,and the bar seems to be the social centre. It provides a value service and makes you welcome just what travelling should be about. That's what makes...

Para no volver. La odisea empezó 6 horas antes de llegar al “hotel” cuando el dueño me llama para confirmar la reserva de dos habitaciones dobles cuando hacía más de dos meses había reservado 3 habitaciones para 7 personas para el 5 de agosto de 2020. Cuando llegamos por la tarde había conseguido otra habitación más en la que se metería una cama supletoria para tener cabida los 7. Una vez ya en la habitación vinieron dos personas para montar la cama extra y ninguna de las 2 llevaba mascarilla. Al decirles que por favor se las pusieran ya que íbamos a dormir en esas sábanas nos dijeron, de muy malas maneras, que así habían hecho todas las habitaciones y que no tenían COVID. Cosa que no pudieron demostrar. Tras decirles que sin mascarillas no podían seguir en nuestra habitación haciendo las camas y pedirles que trajeran algo para desinfectar las camas se fueron enfadadas y volvieron a los 20 minutos con mascarilla pero sin nada para desinfectar. A esto hay que añadirle que en la recepción no había gel hidroalcohólico, sino un gel higiénico con olor a lavanda. Pero ahí no quedó la cosa. La cama supletoria tenía un somier de hace décadas en el que no pude dormir. Tuve que tirar el colchón al suelo para ganar el confort. Pero aún nos quedaban más sorpresas desagradables. La primera fue que al ir a desayunar estaban sirviéndolo las mismas personas que trajeron la cama supletoria y otra vez estaban sin mascarilla. La segunda que al ir a pagar el alojamiento el desayuno no estaba incluido tal y como se indica aquí en la reseña de Google. De haberlo sabido seguro que hubiéramos ido a desayunar a otro lugar del pueblo. Lo dicho, una muy mala experiencia por la que seguro no volvemos a este...

Increíble pero a malas. No entiendo como este hotel no tiene menos nota. Mi pareja y yo estuvimos 4 noches y la experiencia fue bastante mala.

Primero en la llegada a las 18:00 la habitación no estaba preparada. El encargado/camarero del bar nos contó una milonga de que la fotocopiadora estaba rota y que se tenían q quedar toda la noche el DNI por que el dueño no estaba y hacia el cheking por la noche, en eso apareció el que luego nos enteramos que era el dueño, descortés y antipático diciendo que la habitación no estaba hecha y pasando de todo.

A todo el mundo le contaba tan la misma historia de la fotocopiadora, y leyendo comentarios en Maps se ve que es algo que llevan mucho tiempo haciendo.

La habitación era de cartón pluma y se oía todo, la tele, gente hablando, el bar de abajo, los chavales del pueblo en el parque de abajo... Y más cosas que mejor no mencionar.

Las camas debían de tener muchos años a juzgar por lo que te hundias en ellas.

En recepción nunca había a nadie, insisto, nunca, pero aún así te instaban a dejar las llaves de la habitación en el mostrador sin vigilancia y al alcance de todos. (Nosotros optamos por no hacerlo)

Un día nos dejaron una toalla con una mancha amarilla mojada de lo que parecía ser lejía en una de las toallas de ducha, como de unos 40 cm. Al lado del bidé había un charco de este mismo líquido. ¿Se les cayó al suelo y toalla encima? No entendemos como se puede tener tal despiste.

Y el wifi solo se podía coger en la sala de estar.

Sinceramente, a nos ser que no haya otra opción, no se lo...
