Jungle City Hostel — Hotel in Galle

Firstly i would add that mama and her amazing family are 10 out of 10. Super friendly and kind. Very helpful and caring.

My reason for giving 3 starts are i feel as the rooms was very nice lots of space. Good shower with a bath. Very rare in a hostel. I think the bathroom could of been cleaned a little more it was never cleaned when i was there.

Location is outside of town. But only a 15 20 minute walk or can get a bus very close for 40lk. This hostel is right on top of the train line. All day till around 12 1 am starting at 4am. Never bugged me with the noise also. There is no shop close

Food prices i found even tho it is home cooked 100% fresh food. The price is over double then in a small restaurant in town. I never had the food but looked amazing cooked from mama.

Would i go back. Yes i would. :) just my opinions...

We absolutely loved it here! Felt like we found a family, and the hostel owner was like a mum to us. The rooms were great and spacious with aircon, linen and towels, and the whole vibe of the hostel was so homely and friendly. We did an informal cooking class on the first night which was absolutely amazing, delicious and great for having conversations around food and a table, and throughout our stay they couldn’t do enough for us. The free breakfast was generous and the other food on offer to be freshly cooked is still our favourite meal we had our whole time in Sri Lanka! All in all so friendly and helpful, and we were...

Avant même de s’installer, Shashi, la fille de l’accueil nous demande de payer ! En nous disant que le petit déjeuner n’est pas inclu (alors que sur le site il l’était !) Les photos sont mensongères !!!

Il y a du moisi partout, la chambre privée est horriblement petite, tout est sal. Pas de draps, pas de serviette 😳 Juste un plaid c’est hallucinant

ATTENTION : Aucune sécurité au lits en hauteur, pas de barrière donc il est possible de tomber (de très haut !!) C’est inadmissible, une de nous a du dormir par terre.

La salle de bain était censé être privée et quelqu’un y était (on ne sait pas qui car on a croisé personne… peut être le staff) En plus d’être sal (poubelle pleine à notre arrivée et savon solide tout usé), au petit matin, les serviettes que nous avons du louer étaient par terre en boule, et mon savon a été jette à la poubelle à mon réveil ! Je n’en reviens pas 😬🤌

En plus de ça, la baignoire est inexistante 🥲 (voir photo, c’est une douche donc les photos sont fausses)

Dans les autres choses inexistantes il y a : Pas de verrous aux chambres ! La « petite jungle » hahahahahahaha, regarder les photos vous aller rire, c’est un terrain vague La bonne cuisine, rien ne nous a été proposé à par un thé beaucoup trop infusé 🤯 Bruno le chien trop mignon n’était pas là La mama adorable n’était pas la Le « fun » décrit dans certains commentaires n’est plus présent du TOUT : au petit matin, même pas un bonjour de la part de Shashi… elle doit savoir ce qu’elle fait en arnaquant les gens dès le début. L’autre monsieur de l’accueil m’a demandé de lui donner une cigarette… je lui ai donné évidement mais je trouve ça déplacé. C’est les seuls mots qu’il nous a adressé
