If it were possible, we would give this stay -100 stars. As returning guests who have visited your establishment two to three times a year, we were truly shocked by the drastic decline in customer service and overall hospitality during this visit.
To begin with, the staff lacked even the most basic courtesy. There was no warm welcome or friendly attitude upon arrival. Instead, we were stared at as if we were unwelcome, which immediately made us feel uncomfortable and unwelcome.
We stayed in Room 59, which had several maintenance issues. The towel rack and toilet roll holder in the bathroom were both broken, showing a clear lack of upkeep and attention to detail.
When we inquired about food options, the staff seemed completely uninformed and unhelpful, unable to answer simple questions regarding availability. For breakfast, the items served were **plain bread and karola, * dhal and sambol was ok, which is far below acceptable standards, especially for a hotel that previously had a reputation for good food.
What was most upsetting, however, was the behavior of a particular staff member. We politely asked for assistance with carrying a bag downstairs, and the person responded rudely, * raising his voice and stating that he was the driver and not responsible for such tasks**. This kind of response to a simple and polite request is completely unacceptable in the hospitality industry.
Compared to our previous visit about six months ago, where both the service and food were commendable, this experience was extremely disappointing. It felt like a completely different hotel.
If it were possible, we would give this stay -100 stars. We sincerely hope you take this feedback seriously and take urgent steps to improve your staff training, facility maintenance, and customer service standards. We truly hope Hasara Hotel can return to the quality and hospitality it...
Read moreBooked a room and had a meal at the restaurant. We are tourists, so can't say much about location. We needed a place to crash for a night. It was painful even for just one night. Room and bathroom, not clean. Bathroom was just disgusting(our room's bathroom didn't look anything like the one in the picture as advertised). Very old bedding, and I don't think the comforters were washed in ages, towels very old, no shampoo, water would turn cold every few min, had to turn off, wait for it to wam up then continue with shower. The big sink has a tiny faucet from which water drips on edge, so you can't even wash both hands at the same time. We were told the room has wifi, but didn't.
The ladie's bathroom in the restaurant doesn't even have a faucet to wash your hands, no toilet paper. We had food at the restaurant, and we have eaten better Sri Lankan food back home. Staff were very nice and friendly, but I wouldn't recommend staying or eating here. If I had seen how discusting the public areas are, I would have never eaten here. I don't even want to think about what their kitchen looks like. 1 is the lowest star I can give. If I had the option of zero or even a negative star, I would have chosen that. I usually only put reviews if it's positive, or I just won't put a review. But this was so bad, that I just had to warn...
