New Rashi Guest House — Hotel in Sri Lanka

I stayed here for 2 nights with my girlfriend. The room was a decent size, had a hanger, a table and space to unpack 2 luggages. It had a fan to keep us cool and it had hot running water. It could have been cleaner, the walls were dirty and so was bathroom but nothing terrible. There was a mosquito net missing above the bed, however, the owner gave us a scented candle type of thing to keep the mosquitos away which seemed to work. The window in the bathroom could not be closed so we had to make sure to keep the bathroom door closed to avoid any mosquitos entering the room. The towels were missing but were promptly provided upon request. Breakfast was included, which consisted of toast, butter, jam, fresh smoothie, 1 egg (hard boiled one day and fried another), fresh fruit and tea or coffee. The location is very close to Dambulla Caves, very convenient to get there. This accommodation was EXTREMELY good value for money. 5$ per person a night with breakfast included. The host was extremely nice and helpful. He arranged for a car to pick us up from Colombo airport and we stayed with this driver for the next two days. On the first night, we arrived quite late and were looking for a place to eat. The owner immediately arranged for a nearby restaurant to open just for us so we could eat! Really nice. Overall feeling, you get a good value for money, safe room that can be locked, sure it could be cleaner but bed sheets were clean so some stains on the walls and in the bathroom...

Für uns war es leider eine riesige Enttäuschung. Wir haben mit Klimaanlage gebucht, hatten einen veralteten und verstaubten Ventilator bekommen. Außerdem sollte es Moskitonetze geben, noch nicht mal ein Haken war vorhanden. Das Bettlaken war dreckig, für das haben wir ein neues bekommen was sehr komisch gerochen hat. Spiegel im Schlafzimmer und Bad waren mehr als dreckig. An der Decke haben Deckenabdeckungen gefehlt, die einen das Gefühl gegeben haben, dass man im Zelt schläft. Good experience here, you are very close to the cave temple by walking, and the staff and the tuktuk driver of the hotel...
