We spent 4 nights at the Pradas Resort in Brigels as a family of 4, with our two children aged 6 and 3.||We arrived late, around 8pm. Reception had closed however by calling in advance we arranged with the front desk staff to leave the key for our apartment in a key safe box and they sent an SMS providing instructions. We found the front desk staff to be extremely helpful and accomodating for the duration of our stay.||Our 2 bedroom apartment was on the ground floor in block 16, but had an elevated terrace/balcony, which was more private than some of the other ground floor apartments in the other blocks.||The apartments are modern and smartly furnished, with beautiful bathrooms and a small but well equipped open plan kitchen.||Overall our apartment was clean, however the floors could've been cleaner, there was a fairly strong unpleasant smell of cooking which lingered for the duration of our stay and there were a lot of flies in the apartment when we arrived, so we had to buy fly spray the next day to remove these unwelcome guests. However, these are pretty minor issues and didn't spoil our stay.||The resort is located a short walk from the small and sleepy town of Brigels. Don't expect to find many shops or much going on in the town, however the attraction of coming to somewhere like Brigels is peace and tranquility.||I'd highly recommend buying fresh bread from the small bakery (they offer a daily bread delivery service to the resort, but we enjoyed the walk up to the bakery to pick what we wanted that day). There's also a small supermarket/minimarket, and a couple of restaurants. We only tried the italian/pizzeria nearest to the resort during our stay and found it to be excellent, if a little pricey - but nothing is cheap in Switzerland. There are a couple of larger supermarkets - an ALDI, LIDL and Co-Op, all within a 20 minute drive which we used to buy groceries so that we could self-cater.||The resort is built at the side of a lake and we enjoyed exploring the many footpaths around the lake. There's also a ski lift that takes you up the mountain, which is well worth doing and free for guests of Pradas Resort.||The facilities for children are excellent. There's a great outdoor play area with climbing frames, slides and a zip wire, as well as a tubing slide. There's also an indoor playroom with a ball pool and other activities ideal for toddlers and younger children.||There's an indoor swimming pool, as well as a small children's pool and a jacuzzi, and a spa with a range of saunas and steam rooms.||Where we found the resort to be lacking was in eating and drinking options. There's no on site restaurant or bar to speak of, which is undoubtedly a huge missed opportunity, though there were areas around the resort that were closed off which looked like they may be be used to serve food and drink at other times of year - perhaps during the high season winter months.||In summary, Pradas Resort offers a good standard of self-catering accommodation in a family-friendly complex, located in a very beautiful and tranquil part...
Read moreOverall, we've enjoyed the place an the hotel. Rooms are clean and have everything one needs to cook. Bathroom is comfortable, bedroom too. Enough of wardrobes. ||Personnel is polite and professional. ||It is important to note two points that we did not know about:|1. Spa/swimming pool building is a separate building from the chalets where all apartments are located. It is at most 3 mins of walking, but it is still separate. |2. The changing rooms have NO lockers AT ALL. So you cannot lock any valuables. I had to take them in my bag with me to the spa area and just put them there. Better safe than sorry for me. But many people were just keeping clothes and valuables hanging. |I know that it is safe and all, but if there were a lot of people during season, I would not be comfortable leaving everything just like that. |3. Some customers are nude in sauna. So, if someone is uncomfortable, should think about it. ||Other than that, the spa area is nice. Swimming pool is modern and clean. Jacuzzi is lovely and does not smell chlorine. We've loved spending time there. ||There is also a ski lift that we took to go up just to see the mountains. It was very beautiful. Many ski stations around and the view is fantastic. ||The town is small and lovely. We've visited local shops that sell very fresh and delicious food. ||Also, road to the hotel is scenic and passes through other beautiful towns. ||We...
Read moreWonderful place, great value, warm pool, excellent bathing lake, picturesque views. Took away one star off the rooms score and 2 stars off the service score. The large apartment had a bathroom with a shower and another bathroom with a bathtub. It was impossible to shower in the 2nd bathroom, as the shower hose of the bathtub is too short for an adult of any height (including my 1.6m wife....). The management refused to help, they simply said "We don’t have any longer shower hose to change" and added a remark that "This bathroom is intended for bathing. Showering is intended for the second bathroom". The GM didn't even bother to answer my email. I don't think it makes sense that an apartment for 8 people will only have one shower option, when its 32 degrees outside and not a single person wishes to wash away the sweat in a bathtub... But again, other than that it was a great experience, and hence the 4...
