On our ski-touring trip from Grimentz back to Martigny last Thursday (12 March), we planned to stay one night in Vercorin. Before we have left Grimentz in the afternoon (ca. 15:00), we called the reception of MDLS and asked for a room for 4 people incl. breakfast. After having arrived in Vercorin (about 30min later) and inspecting the Room (Chalet Le Roi), we refused to stay at MDLS due to multiple reasons: 1) Chalet was not clean. Dust on multiple surfaces. The host explained us, that this is normal if you are up in the mountains. Another couple (they have travelled for 1 day from Schwyz to MDLS) who arrived at the same time and planned to stay in a different room/chalet, did also refuse to stay at MDLS due to the unclean rooms. The host refused to clean the room. 2) Breakfast is not served before 9:00, which is too late if you plan to go skitouring. Host explained us, that they cannot make an exception, and it is not possible to remove the breakfast from the offering (breakfast times are not visible on the internet and reception did not mention in the call that they only offer late breakfast) 3) Wooden Floor in the bathroom was significantly damaged and they tried to fix it with Duct Tape (photo attached) 4) Spa costs CHF 40 / person extra which was not explained during the call For all these reasons, we rejected to stay at MDLS and booked a room in another Hotel in Martigny.  In addition we have offered to pay CHF 50 to cover for any possible expenses MDLS had - which was rejected by the host. My advice to all future guests, don't give your credit card details in advance before you have seen what you get!

Les plus René est quelqu'un de très sympathique. Le chalet et le concept est super, nous avons adorés. Le lieu ou sont situé les chalets est super. SPA avec une magnifique vue. Les moins Nous avons passé une nuit dans le chalet "Le Rouge" le 12.01.2019. Notre séjour a été de pire en pire. Premièrement, nous avons reçu sur notre mail de confirmation le check-in à 15h00, arrivés à 15h00, personne, la réception était fermée. Nous allons boire un verre et revenons un peu plus tard. Toujours personne à la réception. Nous trouvons une femme de ménage qui va nous chercher la clé et nous apprenons par la suite que l'heure du check-in est maintenant à 16h00 car changement de propriétaire. Aucune excuse des propriétaires pour le désagrément causé. Nous prenons notre chambre et là ça continue, le chalet n'est pas propre, il y a beaucoup de poussière, des traces de doigts et de la saleté sur les vitres, des toiles sur le bois, la tuyauterie des douches pas propre. En voulant se laver les mains nous remarquons que le savon est vide. Un mini-bar était disponible mais il y avait rien dedans (vide). Un ancien produit de douche entamé et ouvert qui a été utilisé par les anciens locataires du chalet se trouve vers la douche. Nous avons réservé le SPA pour 17h00, nous arrivons au SPA et là on remarque qu'on est 2 couples à avoir réservé le SPA en même temps. Aucune excuse des propriétaires pour le désagrément. Heureusement, les autres clients qui avaient aussi réservés le SPA était bien sympa et se sont eux excusés, alors qu'il n'en pouvait rien du tout. Il y aurait encore des choses à dire mais je vais m'arrêter là. Puis arrive l'heure du check-out et malgré tout ça nous restons calmes et expliquons ce qui n'a pas joué afin qu'il puisse s'améliorer pour les prochaines fois. Nous expliquons qu'il manque des brochures à l'accueil qui explique comment ça se passe pour le SPA ou on peux retrouver les tarifs, les différentes prestations, etc. On lui dit qu'il faudrait aussi une carte des menus à disposition dans la chambre peut-être. Enfin arrive le moment de payer et elle me donne la facture et je lui dit qu'il me semble que j'ai déjà payé la chambre sur internet et vu qu'il s’agissait de l'ancienne gérance et d'un autre site j'ai pensé que c'était payé. Et là elle commence à me traiter de menteur, que je veux les arnaquer je ne sais pas quoi. Là je m'excuse, j'ai cru que ma carte avait été débité comme sur Booking et ces autres sites de réservation en ligne (enfin, après tout ce qui nous est arrivé, j'avais quand même le droit de me méfier non ?) Enfin bref, Madame n'accepte pas les critiques et ça monte d'un ton. Je demande à payer la facture et nous partons. Malheureusement, nous avons pas eu une seule excuse pour tout les désagréments rencontrés, c'est tout ce qu'on demandaient, pas plus. Au lieu de ça, on se fait traiter de menteur et qu'on veux "les voler". Grosse déception. Beaucoup trop chère pour les prestations proposées. Par rapport au prix qu'on paie et dû faites qu'ils se vendent comme quelque chose de luxueux, on s'attends à que ce que tout soit parfait. Je dé conseil l'endroit et selon d'autres commentaires négatifs, je vois que nous ne sommes pas les seules.

Amazing experience! We truly loved our little chalet, sauna and the jacuzzi! Breakfast was exceptional! The only little thing I didn’t like is the coldness. It got really cold in the chalet and we couldn’t set the heating to higher temperature (it was always switching back to lower temperature)

Amazing experience! We truly loved our little chalet, sauna and the jacuzzi! Breakfast was exceptional! The only little thing I didn’t like is the coldness. It got really cold in the chalet and we couldn’t set the heating to higher temperature (it was always switching back to lower temperature)

I don t know how others are, but i do believe in change! Change comes to those who DREAM it and Take desperate actions to make it happen. ||WHY i start with this, well because i hope the management of this place will read my comment and Take actions. Ok||As a trip advisor member, i have 3 options:||1.I write a good comment,give maximal score, let the Owner of this place think he runs his business perfectly, and wait for the next negative comments. ||2.I write a NEGATIVE comment, put some "ugly pictures", and let competițion win. ||3.I tell my version of the story,put my best pictures i took during my stay, which reflect my REALITY, let the readers know what went wrong, let the owner know my version of the story, and hope some things will change. ||Start:||We came here Last friday after a loooong way to persuade French to book me(us) a room. First, we live in Aminona, which is The other side of the valley,so every morning when i wake up I wonder what s up there,and to be Honest my first reason was to return home with a perfect image of Vercorin, the little Village that lies în front of us. We chosed "Les Mazots" as I ve liked their concept, some cottages (sort of speak) transformed into chalets, an approach that many architects in the Valley already apply. The basic principle of this concept is to preserve the soul of old buildings(usually cottages left in ruin) while making the home as comfortable and as ecological as possible.Before our arrival i ve tried to find some Informations about the architect who builded this amazing place, but i could not.||We chosed "Le Poete" Chalet, as for me personally it looked the Best. Pictures did not lie, în fact "Le Poete" was even more spacious than we ve expected and with a view over the valley that will remain printed în The back of my head all my ||life:stunning!||Before our arrival i was basically sweating under my arms, i was so nervos and so excited, and not even the cold that took over my body(i got sick just two days before our trip) could keep me home that day. I had great expectations of this place, really. ||CHECK IN:Well, first no-go! We ve booked through Booking and aparently there is a bad comunication between Booking and Les Mazots. We had to wait a few minutes until the LADY at the reception realized that our booking was confirmed and payed.A 100 chf deposit was charged as nor i nor French did not have a credit card with us, which was fair.||We were shown our Mazot,the Poete, and I must admit, it looked even better than în The pictures. First fear was that it was cold, me being sick, but no:The temperature was like în Egypt, hot and the place was cozy. NO COMPLEMENTARY BOTTTLE OF WATER, NO COFFEE PADS, NO CHOCOLATE,just 3 teas and 4 sugars. Which was salutary as I needed the tea în this period.smile smile||Although the place looked great and quality of sleep exceeded my expectations, i could not close an eye due to my flu, so i chosed to watch "Wolf Totem", the movie and listen to Gheorghe Zamfir - Lonely Shepard....drink teas and watch the full moon illuminating the Valey of Rhone, yes that night it was a full moon and the view was amazing. My mind drifted to egypt, but about that i shall tell you în May. Smile smile||Breakfast experience:At 9 am breakfast starts. For the people who want to ski, it s a bit late. We were the first to have Breakfast, and all i can say is that for 12 persons who joined the room that morning 4 small croissants, 3 thin baguettes, and 1 plate of cheese and one of local meat plus some yougurts and gem and Nutella was not too much.When the plate of meat was empty, it took 10 minutes for an employee to refill it, actually it was half refilled. ||About The Spa Experience: i shall just say that the entry at the spa is 40 chf/HOUR per person. ||I totally disliked the lack of information at the Reception, the ia ne znaiu "attitude about The prices and the limite Time. Yes, i booked through a site where the spa facilities and prices are NOT SHOWN, and in The Last minute i found that the price for ONE HOUR in their spa is 40 chf, a bit expensive for what they offer. Makes me imagine, what if i did not know the prices and the conditions,i would have had 3 possibilities:||1.most likely, after one hour someone would disturb my silence telling me that the hour i ve payed for îs over, so i had to get out.||2.very likely, they would let me spend 3 hours inside their sauna, as I usually do, charging me there after from my credit card||3.very unlikely:they would let me spend my time in their spa, without charging me extra, as their motto îs "first and foremost costomer satisfaction"||With the hope that Trip Advisors watch the Photos more than they read long borring comments, with the hope that Reception will make a double check on cleaning instead of writing mean answerd to their clients, i ll end my comment...

First thing, first. Reading other bad reviews, Management response is always the same: Blame the client. Regardless of what their response is going to be, the following is factual and supported by pictures.||||I didn't ask for and don't expect any commercial gesture and this review's sole purpose is to warn others.||||I won't enumerate many of the disappointments we encountered (cigarette buts on the balcony, spider webs, old cardboard boxes left to rot outside, etc.) but the worst has to be the bathrooms in both mazots (Le Roi and Le BD).||||These bathrooms must have been stunning when they were built. Unfortunately, this is no longer the case and they are downright shameful. There is mould growing and the floorboard has become so warped by humidity that you risk hurting your foot when you step out of the shower.||||I could continue but won't. Anyone with a shred of common sense will look at the pictures and reach their own conclusion, regardless of what Management may or may not say...||||Finally and for the sake of transparency, I must admit having raised my voice and thrown our keys on the floor as a final act of desperation. This was to get the receptionist to finally give me a correspondence address to complain or call her boss. I regret having done so, but quite frankly, she started it and I felt at a loss when she called us names...
