I thought it would be a chain hotel, but I didnât expect it to be the worst experience Iâve had since staying in so many hotels. Because the hotel is an old hotel, the decoration is old and new. The Japanese-style tatami room type and the lobby are all different. It's quite new, but the ordinary room type is very similar to the early hotels. The old wallpaper is moldy, and the musty smell comes out when you enter the room. The lighting in the room is dim, and the sound insulation is poor. I've lived on the 9th floor, the highest floor, and I can still hear the road The sound of getting on the car, the small TV station, the most annoying thing is that when you brush your teeth, when you turn on the toothbrush and flush it, the bristles of the toothbrush fall off. The toothpaste in the spare area has been poked and squeezed, obviously from the previous tenant Used but not replaced...for the next tenant to use...I reported the situation to the counter, and just explained to us that I apologized and said that education and training will be strengthened. I am disappointed that the hotel is a chain hotel and there is no compensation plan for this kind of hygienic negligence... Especially in the era of severe Covid-19 epidemic, no I know how many of the rooms were left unused by the previous tenants, let me continue to use them... After scrolling through the Google reviews, I found that many people encountered unclean parts, but they only got canned message replies. I hope your hotel can be well. Improve! instead of apologizing to...
Read moreDec 2024. The rooms are ok. Not great. Front facing rooms are noisy (till 1am) as itâs on the main thoroughfare in âdowntownâ Jiayi. The laundry needs to be upgraded to coin op. When I stayed I saw users setting dryer times to 200 minutes just because they could when 45 mins is enough. Paid laundry would limit that abuse. I appreciate that the rooms have washlet Toto toilet which means you are squeaky clean after visiting the toilet. Thatâs a plus. I also appreciate the water dispenser at the lobby for each floor- that offers hot, cold and sparkle water for use. Thatâs better than plastic bottle water. The staff is also friendly and has good advice for local activities and also for booking cars to visit Alishan. We had the breakfast for two days and itâs relaxing. Nothing is made to order but you can make your own noodle. Coffee is dispensed at a machine where you can choose the type of coffee. I appreciated the food and the breakfast staff. The hotel is close to the night market. There is a 24 hr soy milk shop yonghe across the street if you are jet lagged. And the red bean ice cream shop across the street is a neighborhood favorite for decades. If you crave really good coffee - there is good artisinal coffee at forward roaster or supiido a few mins walk away. I also found out there is a 24 hr laundromat 3 mins walk away that I would recommend instead if you need to do laundry to save time. Overall itâs good value and good location. I would consider staying here again - and do...
Read moreI recently stayed at the Maison De Chine Hotel in Chiayi for two nights and was pleasantly surprised by the value offered. I booked one of the cheaper rooms without a window, and let me tell you, it exceeded my expectations. The room was incredibly spacious, featuring a cozy sofa corner, a separate tea-making station, and a cleverly designed layout with a separate toilet, bathroom basin, shower, and bathroom area. This setup provided a level of convenience and comfort thatâs hard to find at this price point.
Although I mostly used the room for sleeping, it was a great space to retreat to after a day of exploring. The reception team, especially Ken, was fantastic. They were always ready to help, whether it was organizing taxis at a momentâs notice or offering detailed information on how to catch a bus to Alishan.
One of the standout amenities was the free laundry roomâan absolute lifesaver for someone like me whoâs been traveling solo around Taiwan. Itâs also worth mentioning the hotelâs excellent location. Itâs just a 5-minute walk to the night market, where you can immerse yourself in the local culture and enjoy some delicious street food. Thereâs a cheap and tasty breakfast cafe right across the road and a Family Mart around the corner, where you can conveniently book your HSR tickets.
Overall, my stay at Maison De Chine Hotel was wonderful, and I would definitely choose to stay here again on my next...
