This was my treat for my family, who lives in Luodong (羅東). I was hoping impress my mother and Cuncyue (村却) helped me ‘make a splash’ so to speak. Stayed on the 20th floor, overlooking the city with views of both the mountains and 龜山島.||The views were spectacular, and being able to lounge in the hot springs water bath in my room while watching the sun rise is a treat I’ll remember fondly for a long time!||The water flowed fast and hotpot with no plumbing problems as reported by some other reviewers on Googlemaps. The facilities in the 4 person room included a large spa bath with hot spring water and a smaller adjacent spa bath with a great little “nano-bubbles” button that made the water effervescent: it was like soaking in schweppes! Really excellent. Also a rather generously spaced shower, and everything was furnished with tiles and real basalt and granite which felt really non-slip, even when wet.||I haven’t felt this relaxed in ages!||The beds were soft with very fluffy down duvets, complimentary snacks and refreshments, and plenty of international power sockets. There was also a balcony with wicker furnishings, a table and a couple of nice chairs.||Dinner at “east and west 23” was delicious. Beautiful, sweet, fresh prawns, lovely, flaky filo pastry, dry aged beef, and a gorgeous oxtail consommé. We brought some of our own wine, and our server was very practiced with the wine service. There is probably a proper sommelier on the staff. The night view of 羅東 from 23 stories up is pretty.||I want to come back to try the teppanyaki, and I heard there’s going to be a bar opening soon on the top floor.||The service was also very attentive. I asked for a few adjustments and the staff were fast, efficient, and went above and beyond. I almost felt like I should ask them to relax! I highly commend their hospitality management.||The breakfast buffet was quite nice, with lots of variety to try.||I don’t often review on Tripadvisor, but my stay was so lovely, I was kind of shocked that there were no reviews yet on TA. I left a very similar review on google maps as well.||I’m counting down the days until I come back and...

Read moreBig fabulous modern hotspring hotel full of screaming children. If you're looking for a place to let your children scream, this is it. Very close to the Luodong night market and train station. Rooms our spare but pretty. I loved the Terry cloth robe, bed, and towels. All were very soft. There's a great window with a balcony and view of Yilan. The bathroom was spacious and had 4 areas. Sinks, toilet, shower and hot tub. All were separated. The hot spring tub was huge. Up to 180 cm tall can lay down fully. Unfortunately, we found hair and gunk floating on the water after we filled it up so we had to dump the water and start again. What a waste.
Each room has its own wifi connection. Wifi does not work for reading articles or watching videos online without a long lag.
Breakfast buffet has a lot of East Asian options, congee, hot fry, soup, mantou, Taiwan pork floss sushi. There was a lot of bread and cake too. There was some yogurt, fruit, cereal and salad for Western options. Surprisingly there was a ton of candy. It was all fine.
Roof bar is beautiful. The hotel gave many guests vouchers for free drinks and it took 2 hours to get our cocktails which we had to order to go. I hope the management gives the bar staff a raise and more employees because they worked really hard to serve hundreds of customers.
This hotel is designed for families. Every moment in the hotel from 7am to 11pm there were children screaming outside our door, outside our balcony in the pool. Screaming in the breakfast buffet, screaming in the lobby, and most of all, tired children screaming at the roof bar at 11pm. Taiwan parents, let your children sleep. If you're a family this a great place, not so much for couples looking to get away from...
