Disappointing, don’t waste your money... We especially came to this area to experience the famous “mud hot springs” where you can spread the hot spring mud on your face. This hotel website (in Chinese) specifically mentions that they offer a mud hot spring, so that’s what we were expecting. However, upon arrival we discovered that there was no actual “mud”as advertised. When I asked the front desk, they told me that no hotels offer that anymore. So I called one next door...guess what? They DO offer mud! When I informed the front desk, they did not apologize but started defending themselves by explaining they there is some mud mixed in the water. Ok, except we thought we were paying for the “mud on your face” experience. So I asked if we could have a discount since we are not receiving the services as advertised. They refused. Then I asked if we could have our deposit refunded since we would like to go to the other hotel. They refused again, saying that government policy prevents them from giving a refund.

Other cons: -the bathroom was quite moldy -the rooms are small -the public bathroom near the hot spring area didn’t have any soap. When I asked about it, they said they don’t offer soap in the bathroom. (This was surprising, considering we are required to wear masks everywhere.)

Pros: -there is a bathtub and shower curtain for wet/dry area separation (not always common in Taiwan) -since the restaurant was unable to provide gluten-free food, they didn’t make me pay for dinner (usually customers are required to pay for room+meals on weekends) -the kitchen was kind enough to help me heat up gluten free food that I brought from home

Bottom line: the hotel is old and poorly maintained; not worth the cost of the room. If you want a genuine “mud hot spring” experience and good customer service,...

This hot spring resort has private rooms but also an excellent public bathing area (clothes on, all can go - there's nude bathing too if that's what you want but I prefer the outdoor public bathing). There's a regular 40 degree hot spring bathing pool, and another that has mud added. A bucket of mud is provided by this second pool so you can slather yourself in mud (I saw someone complaining in their review that the mud had water in it, if the mud had no water it would be hard and dry, so I'm not sure what the problem was here). Wait for the mud to dry then wash off in the outdoor showers (do not jump into the spa with the mud on you, that's not cool). Putting mud on your face then chilling in the spa is ok though.

There's also a cooler spa, and two more warm ones with essential oils and green tea (smells like matcha!). Then there's a HUGE outdoor cold pool.

Entry is nt$480 per person and includes a drink (orange juice and apple juice). The changing area has showers and open lockers (no lock). You can place your valuables in a lockable locker for nt10.

I didn't bring a bathing cap but there are signs saying you should wear one and it seems to be the accepted thing to do. I wasn't told off but next time I will bring one.

You're not supposed to bring your camera inside but it seems to be ok to do so, and then discreetly take a picture in the corner - the idea is not to take pictures of other people, because that would be rude.

Unlike Beitou hot springs in Taipei, board shorts seem to be ok to wear here as men's bathers (at Beitou they won't let you inside wearing board shorts!)

I've been to a few of these types of hot spring resorts so far in Taiwan and this one is my favourite so far. It's clean, the facilities are good and the price...

自從換了富野溫泉飯店 第一次來入住 訂了一間雙人房 入住時直接升等四人房 真的有感動到 室外溫泉池溫度剛好 泡起來會冒汗 很放鬆 下次會再來 還要約朋友一起來!

I visited the hotel with my family during Ching Ming Festival. It is good to see a big tub in the room since we reluctantly went to a hot spring with others during the pandemic. However, there were still some disadvantages. There was a little fitness equipment in the gym. And most of them were unavailable without power.
