We stayed here overnight during our transit courtesy of Eva Airlines. This is an older hotel that has not been renovated in a while. Nonetheless it is in extremely good shape, they are keeping up all maintenance and repair (they were repainting the courtyard while I was there). Everything worked which is more than I can say for some of the 5 star hotels I've been in. Wifi works well, each room has its own SSID. Only quibbles were: My room had a faint whiff of cigarettes like someone had been smoking 10 years ago, the mattress was firmer than I like and the pillow too mushy, and the shower curtain needed to be longer. The breakfast buffet had good selection and the quality was good including the fruit. I heard someone say that this hotel was much nicer than other hotels they'd been assigned to during transits, and I would fully agree. I just wish the area had other options to get to the airport besides a taxi or the...
Read moreThe hotel is locates in Taoyuan City, Taoyuan area. There is a mini market right across the hotel if you need toiletries, quick bites and drinks. Foods are in abundance along the road northway and southway, and they open till pretty late too. There is a wet market south of the hotel that will offer local experience. There are 3 department stores and more modern buildings north of the hotel, its the Taoyuan city center, taxi ride is about NTD120 one way. Regarding the hotel itself, it is ancient in outward appearance, there are 2 buildings for guest rooms. Mine was in B building, room was clean, and spacious, no smell, all the basic toiletries are provided, slippers and night robes as well. Wifi was smooth. Breakfast selection is poor though, dont offer a lot of western cuisine, mostly local food but variety wasnt that plenty either. Staff wasnt friendly, but they get the job done and...
Read moreWe went as a family of four. This hotel has a lovely pool, gym and billiards. We went on a national holiday and it was super quiet. We basically shared the pool with two other families. The rooms were comfortable and clean and we loved the welcome apples. Dinner and breakfast were very nice. Not many people, but still a decent variety of food to satisfy my picky family. This hotel seems to be used mainly by tour groups and airlines, hence us feeling as if we have the facilities to ourselves. The location is not the best and there's not much to do or see, but it's a short taxi ride from Taoyuan train station,so very easily accessible to anyone in the Taipei area. The staff were very friendly and courteous and the price was literally unbeatable for the value you get. The only shortcoming was that the bar was never open. We will definitely return. We enjoyed our...
