When we first arrived , we were quite taken aback by its facade, it looks certainly like a err....motel...||The reception area is very basic and almost chalet like type of operation, check in was done outside right in front of supposed a small cubicle for parling controller.||Seriously , it looked indeed very "mundane" looking establishment with large neon signs on the outside||We had seen the pics of the interior from the website, but after seeing the facade we wondered what we had got into.......||||After settling down on the reception issue, we were upgraded to a suite by the motel mgmt from our original request. Surprise , Surprise !!! The interior of the room is very chic, nicely designed with use of all natural wood, a fusion of Asian wooden frames with canvas walls and awnings with western sensibilities. Excellent interior design !||||The room we had , also has a garage , yes a garage for car, it is being designed for quick weekend gateway from the big city such as Taipei presumably.||The room has full amenities and it is also equipped with jacuzzi and a sauna room. The room is quiet and actually very discreet in a way, that it is not facing directly to the front street. Noise level is literally down to a almost nothing.||||The cons are ||1. Staff despite being helpful and friendly, they are not English speaker, so if you are staying , knowing simple Mandarin phrases certainly will help a lot||2. the Breakfast are not many choices, though they provided sandwich , eggs and some local Taiwanese fare. Apparently the breakfast are outsource from outside establishment.||3. This is a locally owned and operated , please do not expect services like full pledged hotel.||||Overall we enjoyed our stay, and certainly would like to try the rest of the rooms as each room was furnished...
Read moreWhen we booked the motel, judging the from name , it did not sound very convincing.||Even worse when we arrived , the exterior of the building with its almost chalet like reception area, really dented our confidence.||||But all those doubts melted away when we step into our room. ||Well furnished , very modern and very chic .....a fusion of eclectic Japanese style and western style. All made of wood with canvas wall, nicely framed with wooden frames like structures. There are no signs of being " cheap " about its interior design. Well stocked amenities, with Jacuzzi and steam room. Seriously the exterior of the building did not do enough justice to its interiors. The suite that we had , has a car garage underneath so it was certainly designed for travellers who happened to have a car while visiting Yilan.||||The only cons about this motel was its breakfast, you dont have much choice. Yes, you can still ask for sandwich or local Taiwanese fare , which apparently they ordered from outside their establishment. The other is probably language barrier for non-Mandarin speaker , though the staff are friendly but their conversation are still limited to Mandarin and local dialect. Dont expect too much of the 4 star or 3 star services from this motel, as it is probably locally owned and operated. Just enjoy the room...
Read moreThis was the first time my wife and I stayed at a car motel and the experience was great! We checked in on 28th Apr 2014, and what we saw was exactly the same as the photos shown on the website. So effectively the set up is like a hotel with a very big room! We got upgraded from Room 205 to Room 302 which has a nice traditional Chinese feel. The bathtub Jacuzzi is good, with a build-in television on the wall for those that like to enjoy the bath while watching the TV. Another unique feature is the water massage bed, the first time I've ever tried it. It was a very soothing experience. ||||Service wise, was very pleased with the service provided by the manager and the receptionist. As we did not drive, Manager Wang suggested to lend us their bicycles as well. Breakfast was provided as well straight to the door. ||||Location wise, the motel is near to one of the local night market with less than 5min cab ride. And since there are nearby tourist attractions around Yilan, it is a great stopover location for those that drives. ||||We will definitely return if we happen to go back to Taiwan. This time, renting a...
