We stayed here during our 3 day safari. We were greeted with cold watermelon juice upon check-in. The rooms are all cutely named after produce - we stayed in 'Cucumber'. The rooms each had a small porch with a couch in the front. The room itself was spacious. The bed was somewhat firm, but that seems to be the trend in Tanzania. The bathroom was also spacious, lots of counter space and a large shower. The shower stayed hot enough for 1 shower at a time. Bottled water was provided each day. Free wifi, but only available in the restaurant. Room was missing 2 things - room safe and umbrella. We did not use the pool, though it seemed fine. There was a lounge area with couches and comfortable seating near the restaurant. Bar had a wide variety of options. Dinner was very delicious with lots of options. Would have liked to see more local food, but was overall very satisfied with options. Chef (Ifrahiam) was very friendly and would tell you what each item was as you went down the buffet line. Breakfast was the standard fare - omelette station, fruits, sausage, pancake, bacon, etc. Power briefly went out for less than 30 minutes during our stay, but it was early enough that it didn't affect us much. At one point the wifi stopped working, but again that was quickly fixed. Service was very outstanding. Staff was professional and friendly. Annagrace and Deshi were very warm...
Read moreMy husband and I stayed at Eileen's for 2 nights. I couldn't stop taking pictures of the property, it was absolutely gorgeous with all of the trees and flowers and plants. It felt very secluded even though it was just down the road from town. Upon arrival you receive a warm washcloth and welcome drink. The staff are all welcoming and kind and accommodating. The room itself is great, it's nice and big with a large sitting area in the front of the room, great for reading while listening to the birds sing. The shower is very spacious with plenty of hot water and the bed is so comfortable, my husband and I slept very well. There's tons of space to put your things and hang your clothes. The restaurant is beautiful, we went for dinner and breakfast and enjoyed all of it, the food is fresh and delicious. I also enjoyed going for a dip in the pool. They have a cute fire pit outside next to a little bar area, as well as a volleyball net and a gift shop. Would definitely recommend...
Read morelost power 4 times in one night. They charge for water at dinner but they don’t tell you when they ask what you would like to drink so beware. Hot water ran out 15 minutes into the shower. Wifi speed was very slow at the reception. Staff were friendly though. Breakfast buffet was decent and had freshly made eggs and good bacon. Dinner buffet was also good and had a good variety but there were some meats that were dry. We didn’t like that they require you to drink your soup before you can get food (probably so you eat less). We actually got asked multiple times if we had our soup yet. Lunch box was not good and out of 3, we were each missing something. One was missing chicken while another was missing muffin. Eileens Trees Inn wasn’t the best but it also wasn’t the worst out of the 3 we stayed in. We enjoyed our stay at the Karatu Simba...
