Fashion International Hotel, Dar Es Salaam — Hotel in Dar es-Salaam

For the second time i have to stay in this hotel, for business purposes. It was worse than before. Food is for native Chinese workers / tourist...... other nationalities have to follow their way. No restaurant for a la carte.nor for breakfast, lunch and diner. Internet is poor. lots of internet cuts during the day (I counted at least 20 in 1 day). parts of the hotel are still under construction. Swimming pool is empty and surrounded by construction. No bar or place where you can drink quietly a beer or have a discussion. Room are spacious, but with the heat, 1 AC is not sufficient. Local staff speaks English, Chinese staff does not speak a word of english ... all product sold at the reception are Chinese, indications are Chines. |I really feel to be in mainland China and not in...

I was at Fashion International Hotel (previously known as Regency Park Hotel) for 1 week. This hotel was recently acquired by a Chinese Company. The main clients are Chinese, it is like being in Bejing or another hotel in mainland China. Food is Chinese. I did not expect this and had to adjust a bit. Chinese managers and workers hardly speak any English and are not used to deal with an international clientele with different requirements. They were still under renovation and "upgrading".
