My boyfriend was conned 20$ for airport transfers which were not communicated earlier by the management. 2.The rooms had many tiny cockroaches lurking around. Some were even in the electric kettle which had water all through an indication than they didn't clean the kettle or the utensils on the desk. The shower glass was leaking ended up stagnating water on the bathroom floor. The restaurant service was so poor instead of helping they'd sit and stare at us as they kept on talking in their corner. The ceiling fan had only one setting. Making it difficult to regulate the speed. Poor complimentary breakfast, they left their watermelon slices open to flies. One of thee front desk receptionists had an attitude, kept patronising my boyfriend because she didn't recognize his " Hi" as a proper greeting. The attitude went on to a point she started addressing me instead of my boyfriend who was the primary guest on the reservation. Read moreOur 2 night reservation became 2 hours due to 44 hours of flight delays out of Istanbul. Prior to arrival, Lantana staff responded to emails, acknowledged our delays, and attempted to fulfill special requests. The driver was waiting when we came out long long after arrival, as our luggage was also left behind by the airline and had to be reported (along with 120 other passengers). ||||The shower, nap and hot coffee before returning to airport for flight to Kilimanjaro were awesome. Life returned to our bodies. Lantana only charged about 70% single night rate for our 2 hours.||||I cannot give perfect scores, as we simply do not know. But in the middle of a horrible beginning to our holidays, the Lantana staff was a light in the darkness. Many thanks to all of them for their quiet kindness! If we ever get the chance to travel through Dar es Salaam again we will give the Lantana our business. Maybe there will be something we don't like. For sure they were the right people for...
Read moreThe rooms are good but that's just about it! I initially booked a Junior Suite but realised that it is unnecessarily huge. I downgraded to a standard room which had a better energy feel. Do not expect to have your room replenished and cleaned - unless it is an extra fee I was not aware of. Cockroaches come out to play at night! Ironing of clothes is an extra charge therefore I do not see how it is a budget hotel as there were many hidden fees. |My disaster experience had to do mainly with the billing. One of the receptionists was guessing prices for transfers and accommodation prices were not accurate! I refused to pay until an official invoice was eventually issued. Airport transfers was initially communicated as a free service if staying for 3 nights or more, until I was asked to pay at the airport!...
