Pauraque Soho Hotel — Hotel in Dar es-Salaam

It's my first time leaving this low rate on google review.

I don't know why this hotel has this good rate. Let me tell you the fact, the room facilities are great. But the service is too slow, poor and now rude at the end of the day. I had to go down to the reception 3 times if I wanted to ask a laundry service. There was a problem with a phone inside my room(it was an executive suite room, the most expensive room in the hotel), and until I pushed them to do so, they didn't care. And the main problem is the staffs never communicate. I always had to repeat the same words, same requests for tons of time.

There was a stain my bag after having a laundry service. And they never tried to compensate for it. I was suggesting 50% of amount(it would be USD40 to 50), saying that I would also bear the half of expenses, but their answer was NO, JUST FORGIVE US, without any polite attitude. It's the time for me to decide I would move to another hotel, I was supposed to stay here more than 3 weeks.

I already asked her to deduct this bag laundry price from the pending laundry expenses, and when I double checked while checking out, the price wasn't reflected. And I was a bit mad, it means I needed to REPEAT my words even in the last day. And what surprised me was, the receptionist with a long hair raised her voice and cut my words, showed the most rude attitude. Perhaps she did that to me as she knows I am leaving.

She ruined all experiences here. IF you only focus on facilities, then you will enjoy the stay. But don't expect any good, quick and polite service.

I booked this place last minute to hang out with Bae and I had a great experience from the minute I walked in. It doesn’t look like a hotel but more apartment block but we’ll maintained. I was met downstairs by a young guy who checked my booking then took my bags and brought me upstairs to reception.|Walking to reception, I was greeted by 3 staff members, all super sweet and friendly. I was given juice and checked in smoothly. |I loved my apartment. So clean and spacious and super bright.|I loved the breakfast, they had everything available even dinner type of food for breakfast so very filing.|My favourite part of staying here was the hospitality service I received from all the staff. I had to go get some supplies ( alcohol) and the guy who bought me to reception made sure I got a piki piki to my destination and bought back safely, that was sweet :-) They must get praise and credit because my stay was very comfortable because of them. |I will definitely stay...

Booked 4 nights, but checked out after a single one. |Location is excellent, staff friendly and while the room was decent, unfortunately it wasn't clean enough: There were stains on both pillows, one was definitely a blood stain. Also bed sheet had other stains. |- Previous guest had left a big bunch of hair in the shower which no-one had bothered to clean up. |- Breakfast starts at 07:30. This is ridiculous for a hotel. And some of the food wasn't even ready until 08:00. Also be ware that this hotel does not have a restaurant.
