Before choosing to stay at Boho, I recommend you consider a few things. First and foremost, I hope you have a strong and intimate relationship with your partner, as the bathroom door does not close completely. I will attach some photos to help you understand how uncomfortable this might be for some people. Secondly, in the evenings, there is very little to do here. The bar closes between 9:30 PM and 10:00 PM. The wind picks up as soon as the sun sets, making it impossible to swim in the pool. They have UNO, but be careful—the wind might blow the cards away. Furthermore, you might think you’re safe because there is a security guard on the premises. That is, until you see him sleeping at 11:00 PM. The owner is usually around all day. Be cautious about what you order, as you might end up paying more than expected. The happy hour, which runs from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM, is mostly for outsiders, not for guests. During the 10 days I stayed, I didn’t get a single cocktail at the ‘happy hour’ price. "Adults only" is a relative term. They allow outside guests with children to drink at the bar and sometimes even permit their own guests to bring children. The owners will try to help you plan excursions around the island, but be sure to check the prices before agreeing. You may end up paying more for the simplest trips and less for the more complicated ones. We didn’t have a good time here; we were really disappointed. We booked directly with the owners, not through a booking app, and they didn’t understand how many nights we had based on the dates we provided. After booking a late checkout, we were told it was no longer possible due to another group arriving on our last night. We ate our breakfast surrounded by people sleeping on the couches. We asked to have some clothes washed, and the guests with the fewest clothes were charged the most. The owners should make sure to double-check everything guests are expected to pay for. Cocktails were added to rooms even though the people in those rooms hadn’t ordered them. You might be told there are good restaurants nearby, but that’s not true. We could only find one, and we ended up eating pizza almost every day. Breakfast includes eggs every day. The order of the food is fruits, dessert, then the main dish. If you ask for the main dish first, you’ll be told the kitchen is too small to serve it that way. The coffee included in breakfast is terrible, although the coffee you pay for at the bar is good. The rooms were cleaned every day and done wonderfully; we can’t complain about that. After 2:00 PM, there is no place to sunbathe. The sunbeds are not adjustable, making them impossible to use if you want to tan your back. The bed is extremely hard, and your back will hurt every morning. There are daily power outages. We had three chargers destroyed because, as we were told, "we didn’t remove them from the socket during the outage." The Wi-Fi is very poor. If you complain, you’ll be told, "This is not Europe, guys," although other nearby restaurants, including the one next door, didn’t have this issue. So, good luck if you still wish...
Read moreHello! I’m the frustrated number 4 who ONLY ate pizza and pasta in Zanzibar (as the hotel owner himself put it; by the way, you forgot about the French fries). I’m writing this review for everyone considering staying at Boho Boutique during their trip to Zanzibar. I strongly recommend not choosing this hotel, and I’ll explain why.
I stayed there at the same time as Diana Vasilichia (see her review above), and I can confirm that everything she wrote is 100% true. In addition to what Diana mentioned (her message serves as a conclusion – much more civilized than the owners deserve – to everything we experienced during our stay), you should know that things are far from how they appear in the photos, and if you have the patience to read all the host's replies, you’ll get an idea of their character.
From my perspective, the biggest issues were the lack of dining options (if you want to avoid food poisoning, of course. Initially, we tried the burgers, seafood, and beef at all three restaurants enthusiastically recommended by the hosts. Later, we concluded that if we wanted to stay safe, the only reliable choices were pizza and French fries – even the pasta caused us problems), the quality of the internet (much worse compared to all the other places we visited on the island), and the attitude of the manager and hosts.
The gentleman who responds so rudely to our comments (and then deletes his replies when he realizes they reveal his true character) wasn’t even on the island during our stay at their hotel, yet he speaks boldly about situations he knows nothing about.
Dear Mr. Owner, if you love the title of "owner" so much, I recommend you get more involved and try to improve the quality of the service you offer, prioritizing the comfort of your guests over financial profit. You might be surprised to find that you’ll receive better reviews (real ones, not just...
Read moreFirst of all I will begin with the good things: the property is clean, the rooms are as shown in the pictures; BUT!! I think it’s very important to know that you can swim in the ocean before 9 am ( maximum in a good day until 10 am) or after 4:30-5 pm ( when is dark) … between these hours the beach is as shown in the pictures I attached… Me personally I would have liked to know this aspect because then for sure I would have chosen to stay somewhere else on the island. A second thing that I personally recommend to be careful when someone opens a tab at the bar of this villa is the amount of drinks written on that tab… in my case were drinks added that we didn’t consume. Third… If you notice something wrong, be prepared to be blamed for having the audacity to make an 'inappropriate' comment about the property. The two stars awarded in total are for my experience there, and it is related to what was promised to be there and what was actually found there, and not least due to the (very inappropriate) reaction of the owner when he received...
