Following up on your feedback. I appreciate your apology. Although you have distorted the events of what happened that night.
When we arrived, not once did you or your Wife come and check on us. Which is fine. But the concern is your Wife personally went to the other tables to give the other non black customers their meals and to check on them. We were only served by the waiters (who are black). You both didn’t even greet us but yet you were checking on the other non black customers. So that’s already a red flag.
The place was empty. There were literally two other tables that were taken. But yet you chose to come to ours when the place was not yet busy?
You only came to check if we were happy because you were asking us to move. You didn’t highlight that part which isn’t right.
You need to be cognisant of your environment and the fact that your restaurant is in a predominantly black owned country. Whether you have your prejudices will never be known but we have travelled and we are exposed and we dine out a lot. We literally innocently came to try your restaurant and you treated us like we shouldn’t have been there.
If you guys only want Italian speaking individuals then make a sign outside the restaurant stating, “only Italians welcomed”. But you obviously can’t do that because it would raise eye brows with the Tanzanian government.
As stated, I appreciate your apology but in future treat everyone the same regardless whether or not they are from Italy. Because what we experienced was very distasteful.
Thanks.
Incredibly Racist. My husband and I went for Dinner there. We were the only black couple there - the owners did not once come to check if we were fine but they were checking on the other white guests. Then the owner asked us to move from our table (before we were even done) to sit on the couches as they wanted the white guests to take our table.
I wouldn’t reccommend anyone who is diverse...

Read moreI ate here several times during my stay in Kiwengwa because it was near my hotel and had good food. I ate pasta twice, poke once and a sandwich. Everything was excellent except the french fries which were so-so. Only giving three stars because I was travelling with my one year old daughter and it didn't feel especially kid-friendly, or even friendly period. For example, the owner (I assume) came over after my final meal there and said, regarding some sauce my baby left on a beach cushion, "Use the table next time. This couch is for all our clients." Not rude or anything, but I didn't feel the mess was excessive for a toddler. The sauce wiped off. I didn't see a lot of families at Kiwengwa beach, so this may be a reflection of the general vibe of the place. If you are travelling without kids, I wouldn't hesitate to eat here, but myself I probably wouldn't go back because I felt like mine and my daughter' presence was unwanted. Prices are typical of a...
