From the very moment we entered the hotel, we felt truly cared for. Check-in was quick and smooth, without any unnecessary delays. As a welcome treat, we were offered a delicious glass of freshly squeezed pineapple juice — such a lovely gesture! Our room was spotless — big thanks to the amazing housekeeping ladies, especially Ms. Zuwena, a hardworking and kind woman whose smile brightened every guest’s day. The air conditioning and ceiling fan worked perfectly, which was a huge relief for us tourists not used to the African climate. The hotel is currently undergoing renovations, and the newly renovated rooms are sure to please future guests. The food? Absolutely fantastic! Fresh, tasty, and always satisfying. Breakfast was made to order as soon as we arrived at the restaurant, which speaks volumes about the freshness and attention to each guest’s preferences. Whether it was an English breakfast with eggs, beans, and sausages, or pancakes with Nutella or jam — everything was delicious. Dinner was served à la carte, with a full course menu including soup, appetizer, salad, main dish, and dessert. Our favorites — the ones we already miss at home — were definitely: chicken cream soup, spring rolls, samosas, chicken with fries, fish with fries, shrimp, and warm pineapple fritters for dessert. Pure heaven! The garden and surroundings of the hotel were beautifully maintained. Adding to the charm were the monkeys playfully jumping around the hotel bungalows. They were calm, respectful, and truly felt like a special part of the experience — just like in nearby Jozani Forest. While the rooms and food were excellent, the people made the biggest impact. They are the heart of the hotel and made our holiday unforgettable. Leading them is the wonderful Manager Sourav — a true professional and a kind, approachable person. His presence and daily involvement ensured that everything ran smoothly and that each guest felt seen, heard, and welcomed. The entire team is cheerful, helpful, and always smiling. Special thanks to two amazing waiters who filled every meal with positive energy and gave us great tips on what to see around the island. They were friendly, humble, and clearly passionate about their work. We also want to give a huge shout-out to the amazing Masai security guards — Jon and Johan. They made us feel very safe and cared for. Their kindness and support will stay in our hearts for a long time. Any downsides? Only one — our week here flew by way too fast! Honestly, there isn’t a single thing we could complain about. Heartfelt thanks to the entire staff for such a beautiful stay. Warm greetings from Krystian and Magda from Poland — you’ll always have a special place in our hearts. We wish you all the best, and we’ll definitely be back. See you again soon! ❤️

We have spent eight wonderful and relaxing nights at the beach resort in room number 19, a bungalow with garden view and a little glimpse of the Indian Ocean from the porch. The resort consists out of overall 10 Bungalows covering 20 rooms and a big main building containing a bar, the restaurant area where the half of full board is served plus chill out areas. An external agent can provide you with certain activities such as e.g. snorkeling, dolphin tours, Jozani Forrest tours, Spice Tours, and more. Be aware that it’s not cheap and look for alternatives to spear money. The staff and the manager Stanley were fantastic, always very friendly, helpful and open minded. The bar tender very eager to learn some Germán sentences 👌🏻 The room was very tidy and cleaned every day, and prepared for the night. The room lacks air conditioning, so if you desire it, look for a beach view room. A Water bottle per pax, to brush teeth, are provided once a day, as for westerners the tap water is not recommended. A fridge ain’t available, which is not surprising for a resort. A nice and pool is available in the garden area with depth between 1,2 and 2m. We enjoyed it a lot. An improvement would/could be a toilet and bar directly at the pool area. The beach is liberated from loose sea grass every morning and is subjected to the tide. On low tide you experience a vast beach and you can stroll into widely into the bay area, watching the locals harvesting sea Gras and net fishing which might contain your next dinner. As we were on the edge between high and low season we had the first days buffet and a la carte afterwards. Anyway, we liked both. Dishes with meat and fish alike. If you are posh, an extravagant person, and expect a 5* plus environment for that reasonable price-performance ratio look for something else and spent more. Otherwise we would warmly recommend this resort to you. Remark: As plastic waste is an issue on Zanzibar and everywhere else on the planet, try to avoid the consumption, make the resort manager aware to improve and collect if you can. Avoid it at home likewise, it makes the beautiful even more beautiful. We had a wonderful time at the Hakuna Majiwe (No Stones) beach resort and would like to thank the entire staff for their hospitality ☺️ and wish all the best for your future. See you later 👋 Hakuna Matata 🤙🏻

A complete tourist trap!!!! I don’t recommend to anyone to stay here. The food is terrible, the house is impossible to keep clean. There are no windows so the air conditioning and the cleaning is only for show, in 5 minutes the sea breeze will fill the place with sand, ants everywhere and spiders hanging from corners and decorative walls (they don’t even have a vacuum cleaner). If it rains all your clothes, your bed sheets, towels will be wet and it’s impossible to dry them out. The people are apparently nice but their bad English and unprofessional attitude will bother after 1-2 days. (All of them will come to you during breakfast asking if you slept well - they don’t listen or care about your answer) but when you need a drink in the middle of the day they are nowhere to be found. You also have to beg them to take away empty bottles or dirty glasses from your bungalow. If you don’t ask for sealed bottled water they will try to trick you into drinking tap water from glass bottles. The manager says come to me with any problem, I got food poisoning the last days and when I told him, he said it was impossible because we all ate the same food. No concern, no “are you feeling good? Do you need medication”. Just to be clear, I ate the whole day at the hotel, I ordered tomato sauce spaghetti (no meat) because I thought there is no way to go wrong with it. Other guests witnessed that I got sick after dinner but to the manager it was impossible. The only good thing about this place is the landscape but don’t be fooled, after 2 days you will want to leave and won’t be allowed to (no money back, doesn’t matter that the conditions don’t fit what they sold you). The beach is also dirty and smells from algae and dead fish. When I arrived the pool was dirty too, they cleaned that the next day.
