A place this ruined by its General Manager… Wouldn’t recommend that place at all.
First of all we checked out from another hotel that we didn’t like, as the rooms were very small, and went to this one, a d we told them that we had a bad experience and this is our honeymoon, and they welcomed us a lot. The place looked nice and the staff seemed very nice. The first night was good, nice room and nice view of the restaurant (the room view they told us ocean view but it’s not, it’s direct to the ocean but the trees are everywhere hiding the view).
The second night came, we found a lizard inside the room (it was ok and kid of expected in Zanzibar), so I killed it. Then we found another one in the ceiling, I texted the General Manager over WA (there are no phones inside the rooms and they told me to text over WA if anything is needed), they sent someone and he killed it, then at 2 pm my wife found another 2 lizards, one on the wall and another one inside the bed net!! So it was not acceptable at all, we went to the reception and we found one guy, we asked to change the room, and we texted the General Manager over WA, with no response. The reception guy -who was helpless- went to the manager, and obviously he told him to go away as he was sleeping, then I went to this manager my self, and SHOUTED AT ME saying that he has work in the morning and he cannot help us!!!!! I was shocked and I told him that we need to change the room now! He didn’t reply to me and went inside his room, got another room key, gave it to this guy and didn’t talk, and slammed his door in front of us!!!!!
We barely slept, and we checked out in the morning.
This Spanish General Manager is really CRAZY, even one of the staff told me that he is a crazy person, and he is running the place. I had the owner number and I texted him over WA with no response, even this manager had blocked me on WA.
I don’t know how this is a 4 stars hotel, but I had a terrible experience in my honeymoon that I hope it doesn’t happen to...
Read moreKivuli Beach Resort is a hidden gem in Zanzibar, offering an unforgettable escape. With its serene beachfront location, exceptional service, and world-class amenities, it's easily one of my all-time favorite resorts.
From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with warm hospitality. Joan, the General Manager, and Marcia at the front desk went above and beyond to ensure our comfort and satisfaction. Their genuine care and attention to detail made us feel right at home.
Kivuli's location in Paje is ideal for those seeking a tranquil escape. Far from the crowds, the resort offers uninterrupted views of the ocean and a peaceful ambiance. The property is also very private and safe, ensuring a worry-free stay.
The resort's charming beachside bungalows offer a peaceful retreat. Just steps away from the ocean, I enjoyed waking up to the sound of waves and stunning sunrises. The laid-back atmosphere and lack of need for shoes was the perfect recipe for a carefree vacation.
For adventure seekers, Kivuli is a kiteboarding paradise. The onsite kite center, led by the skilled and IKO-certified Sele, offers lessons for all levels. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced rider, you'll have an unforgettable experience. After a day of exploring the island or hitting the waves, I found solace in the expert hands of Manuela, the onsite masseuse. Her wide range of massage techniques, from holistic to deep tissue, provided the ultimate relaxation.
The culinary experience at Kivuli was equally impressive. The kitchen staff prepared delicious and fresh meals, from fresh tuna tartar and smoothies to hearty breakfasts and refreshing beach bar drinks (thanks, Daniel!)
If you're looking for a truly exceptional resort in Zanzibar, I highly recommend Kivuli Beach Resort. Its combination of serene location, wonderful service, and laid back luxury makes it a truly...
Read moreBest Spot in Paje, At the end of October and the beginning of November I spent with my wife 11 wonderful days at Kivuli Beach Resort. The accommodation chosen by us was in one of the villas with Ocean View. Everything was excellent, from the very spacious room, the extremely comfortable bed, the generous and perfectly functional bath, the villa terrace and the very comfortable furniture, the linen and the towels that have changed daily, until the cleanliness that was made even twice per day. Good quality breakfast is served at the restaurant with a magnificent view of the ocean. The menu of the restaurant and the beach bar covers all tastes for both food and drinks are very good quality. The villas are practically on the beach, the area is extremely quiet, but in a few minutes it can be reached in more crowded areas, with many restaurants, cafes and music clubs, for those who want it. The hotel has its own kiteboarding school with extremely professional instructors. Last but not least, I want to thank them and wish all the best of the staff who were extremely kind and they helped us whenever we need it. I hope we do not forget anyone, but we want to greet and start from the restaurant and bar on Loushana, Ana, Daniel, Fahad, Shomani, Marsha from the reception, at Joan, GM of the complex and his wife Manuela, physiotherapist and at the end, but not least to Abeid, the owner of the hotel. It should be mentioned that this complex started the activity only in 2022 and even if everything is not yet perfect, I am convinced that in the shortest time it will be taken to the level of excellence. As we promised, if something special do not happens, we will see you again with you for at least a double period. We warmly recommend this complex for those who want to travel to Zanzibar in the Paje area. All the...
