Mgongo tree house — Hotel in Unguja

Mgongo tree house was a real dream home that made my stay unforgettable. I loved everything! I had booked one week but I stayed almost one month because I loved it so much.

The house is so beautiful and it is located in the best part of Jambiani in my opinion. It is close to the amazing beach and at the same time close to the heart of Jambiani where you can stroll through the small streets, meet people and buy the things you need from the local shops.

The apartments are so homely and cozy and are nestled into the nature providing a privacy and a sense of peace that goes right into your heart and soul. The interior is rustic, fresh and so tastefully decorated. The bathroom is huge and so very special, the room is big and spacious with good storage and so comfortable beds. The outdoor kitchen and the terrace is a dream. I enjoyed every minute being there.

The hosts Liza and Tofa are so sweet. They are so welcoming, genuine, happy, kind, open and so helpful with everything. I will come back! Thanks for everything you...

We spent a week in August at Liza's place, and it was absolutely wonderful. After spending 5 weeks on the island, we can confidently say that this is the best option in the south of Zanzibar. In fact, we enjoyed it so much that we rented it again for another week after staying in the north. Liza is incredibly attentive, proactive, and very friendly.

The house is unbeatable: spacious, clean, and perfectly located just a few steps from Jambiani beach. It's a quiet environment, perfect for a well-deserved vacation. Both the bedroom and the bathroom, as well as the kitchen, are fantastic—we felt right at home with privacy and comfort. The bed is large and comfortable, there’s plenty of space for clothes, and we had a cozy private balcony with a chill area to relax. The bathroom is spacious with great ventilation and plenty of hot water.

I stayed a couple of nights in this lovely place as a lone female traveller and absolutely loved it. It has everything you need, is cool and comfortable and I felt completely safe. Liza is such a welcoming and helpful host! She gave me lots of useful tips and information and helped link me with Husna, the cleaning lady, who was also really helpful and kind. It's only 2 minutes to the beach and there are nice restaurants around everywhere. It's good to go to the ATM for cash before arriving as the nearest one is a bit of a distance away but it was easy to get to in a Bajaj. I highly recommend this...
