Mwisha Cafe — Restaurant in Unguja

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Mwisha Restaurant in Jambiani, Zanzibar and was thoroughly impressed by the experience again. The atmosphere was friendly and the decoration was nice, making for a comfortable and welcoming ambiance. Cecilia and her husband, as well as the staff, were incredibly hospitable and made sure that all of our needs were met. While we waited for our food, we were able to play a few games, adding to the overall enjoyable experience. The waiter, Moudih, was particularly funny and friendly and made for great conversation.

The food at Mwisha Restaurant was top-notch. Everything was cooked fresh and the quality was outstanding. The prices were also fair, making it a great value for the experience. They offer a variety of options including breakfast, a la carte starters, mishkaki, salads, burgers, curry and even a small kids menu and desserts. I would highly recommend trying the Chicken Burger and the fresh-made banana, pineapple, papaya, passionfruit or mango juice, which were all delicious.

Small restaurant with tasty food. The selection of dishes is very diverse. The Swahili dishes in particular are incredibly tasty. I tried many different dishes in 4 weeks and they were all delicious.

Cecile, the owner, is super nice, very helpful and a very good cook.

A little tip: As in many other restaurants in the area, there can be waiting times when the food is being prepared. But that's not a problem! Just be patient and enjoy the evening. Pole pole.
