I spent 4 days at this hotel and had high hopes from previous reviews, and the pictures shown on google and Agoda. I have never been to a place with so many false promises and would never come back

To start off on a positive note, the staff were the only thing that made it worth it to stay here. They were very kind and understood English relatively well which helped with the problems I am about to list in the paragraph below. I also have to note that the service man at the front desk during the evening was very condescending and sneered at me every chance he got, almost if I was inconveniencing him, which I may add it’s his job to cater to the guests at least with some positivity.

The wifi is non existent in the rooms and if you want to use it you have to go to the restaurant or the lobby which is quite annoying especially for people with limited or no data, in the add it said that the resorts will have wifi, which they did not. The TV aswell was extremely old and wasn’t watchable at all (pic below)

I’m not sure about the other rooms but mine was on ground level which led to a horrible ant problem, they had made holes through the grout on almost every corner which made storing food and eating very difficult. They will show up in minutes and it happened on 3 different occasions when it should be 0, I will add they did give me a spray to keep but that’s their job, I’m paying to stay here not to be a pest control man.

If you don’t not own or have a rented motor bike it’s very inconvenient. There’s no walking access to anything and the only way out is on very busy and dangerous road. You’ll find yourself spending a lot of money on a taxis and it’s not ideal if you want freedom to leave when you like. Unless you have a bike or car.

The laundry prices were unreal, they charge 25 tbh per t shirt, 25thb per underwear, and 35thb for shorts. For other prices of clothing the prices are similar but it costs an unreal amount. In Canada to do laundry at a nice resort, it’s half the price compared to here. Though the staff did take me into town for free to a cheap laundry spot which saved me.

The restaurant is an absolute joke, on google the menu was a lot bigger with more options but when I got here it was just a few dishes which was very disappointing. They also say that they close at 7 but good luck getting anything after 5 o clock. The free breakfast is alright but make sure to buy activated charcoal for the first few times you eat it cause it gave me the runs.

The maintenance is horrible on the property with bushes and grassy areas completely overgrown. My door also broke late at night and wouldn’t close at all, I will say they repaired it but got a ton of attitude from the service man mentioned previously. It was fixed that night but if it was any later I would have been screwed. The lights on the stairs leading up to my room were also broken so unless you have a flashlight you have to be extremely careful

To summarize I wouldn’t come back unless I had a gun pointed to my head. I saw a previous review saying it should be bulldozed and the jungle should take over, which I whole...

We stayed 6 nights at Chalong Chalet and we honestly had the best time despite some of the negative reviews. We arrived mid-October which was the end of the low season so the hotel was practically empty which was amazing as all the amenities were always free (gym, pools etc). Speaking of swimming pools, there are two large ones in the hotel and then private ones near rooms which we had but didn’t use in the end. The pools were so nice and peaceful and the lady at the bar was often playing nice music which was cool. The staff was beyond amazing and always here to help. One day we had quite a big spider in our room and they came straightaway to remove it! For breakfast, after a few days they had remembered our usual drinks and as soon as we came they were on the table. On that note, I would say that the breakfast could be better as there wasn’t a lot of choice and the dishes in my opinion were more for lunch than for breakfast (but maybe Thai ppl eat this for breakfast!). We did laundry twice and yes it is slightly pricey for Thailand BUT my laundry never smelled this good and they took real good care of it (perfectly ironed too) so that’s a service you pay for. I go to the gym often and for me the gym was a bit disappointing though. It would need a good refurbishment and some AC to make it comfortable but the weights were good so I still managed to work out a few times. I also tried Thai boxing at the hotel which was 400 bahts for a 2 hour class and the people taught me the basics which was so cool, I loved the class (they only take cash). Lastly, the hotel is indeed located near a very busy road which makes it very tricky to go out by foot. It didn’t bother us too much as we would go early in the morning and come back quite late and trips with Bolt are quite cheap (~200 bahts) for short trips and we liked that the hotel was away from the main attractions as we were looking to rest. There’s a lot of parking spaces at the hotel so if you plan to move a lot, you can rent a bike or a car and park it there (not sure if the hotel charges a fee for it though). Overall, we truly enjoyed our stay and we had a great time. There are pros and cons, like everywhere else :) PS: if you see a small ginger and white cat please take care of her, she’s the cutest! There is another one who is quite sick we used to feed...

We went to the end of November, when the high season was starting. Arriving at the structure, there were problems with the payment because the device was perhaps a bit old model, but fortunately the hotel manager kindly authorized the payment in cash.||They took us up to our room. And from that moment on it was a total disappointment!||||The road leading to the rooms was in total degradation, all abandoned.||The room did not reflect the photos on the site at all:||- smell of ammonia,||- the lights inside the room didn't work (no lights behind the headboard, not even in the shower),||- the giant bed but with two pillows that would be more suitable for a single bed, no decorative pillows on the bed and not even on the sofa outside near the jacuzzi as in the photo,||- detached safe case ,||- mold.||- mini bar almost non-existent (2 bottles of water, coffee and tea)||- switches all broken,||- Bathroom doors that do not close,||- dirty curtains and light switches.||- desk absent and replaced with bedside table||- TV of very bad quality||- Poor breakfast.||||We asked if it was possible to fix the lights and have some pillows ... they brought us pillows for the bed but everything else was not fixed.||We asked to change rooms, but apparently the hotel was fully booked!||We were supposed to stay 3 days, but it ended after one night.||||The only positive thing was the staff of the Resort, who despite everything was welcoming, understanding and did not oppose to refund us for the 2 nights already paid ... maybe we were not the only ones to complain.||||I'm really sorry to have to write this review but unfortunately I couldn't pretend nothing happened ...||||The structure could be a real jewel but it is not taken care of at all ... perhaps due to lack of staff, perhaps due to the economic crisis or due to the repercussions of Covid, ... I do not know what the real reason is but I wish you with all my heart that they manage to restore the things that are wrong in this Resort becaused otherwise it would be...

This review reflects the collective opinion of six people who stayed at the resort. We booked three garden-view rooms, and among them, room 208 offered the best view, while the others were partially obstructed by trees. However, this didn’t bother us much as the resort’s peaceful ambiance and proximity to the main road made up for it. Conveniently, there’s a 7-Eleven within walking distance, and several renowned beaches are nearby. We loved the location and the friendly staff. However, the buffet options were disappointing for a luxury resort. While the food quality was good, the variety was far below what one would expect at this price point. The resort’s integration with nature is both a charm and a challenge. We encountered lizards in the rooms, which was unexpected for a luxury property. When we reported this to the management, their response was surprising: “Switch off the lights at night and close your eyes; you won’t see them. Since the property is surrounded by trees, we cannot address the issue of insects and pests.” This reply left us quite taken aback. Despite these shortcomings, the resort has its highlights. The swimming pool is excellent, featuring a common jacuzzi and a deep pool. The gym is well-equipped, and additional facilities like a Muay Thai training center and an indoor rock-climbing gym offer unique experiences for guests. Overall, we enjoyed our stay, especially at the pool and gym. If you’re okay with the occasional lizard and limited food options, this resort is a great place to relax and unwind.
