This is a two star hotel. We chose it because we were under the impression that it was new and, therefore, very clean (of ultimate importance to us). Unfortunately upon arriving, we realized that it’s actually a renovated hotel - only the lobby/restaurant/pool area are “new”.
Firstly, the location is terrible. We were willing to be outside the city walls for a clean, new hotel but this was not it. Not only was it not walking distance from anything but it is located near VERY run down buildings and shacks. Not only that but the airplanes are so loud it’s impossible to talk over them. We’re used to airplanes flying overhead at home but this is another level.
Secondly, the rooms were dirty with cup stains on the boards above the beds and sinks that had brown gunk in them. We walked in and the room smelt slightly of that smell of a used clothing store - other peoples’ hair/sweat/stink. The water pressure was terrible and the water was not hot. Even the pool had lots of dead flies and bugs. The hallways had wires running above them. The doors do not shut on their own like most hotels, you have to shut them yourself. The rooms are not sound proof at all and you can hear everything in the lobby.
Breakfast was decent; with a variety of options including an omelette station.
The wi-fi did not work which was terrible considering you need to sometimes catch up on work or do some planning for the following day.
We were completely fooled about this place. The renovations itself was done poorly and the pictures that are most shown do not reflect the place itself when we booked.
This is not worth the money at $90 CAD/night around New Years. This is barely a two star. We couldn’t wait to leave. Maybe if your standards are low this could do but do not come in thinking this is a clean “resort”. It’s trying to be a 4 star hotel but there is just so many cut corners on the appearance and cleanliness.
Breakfast was literally the only thing that was somewhat satisfactory. Not...
Read moreI am here as my house in Chiang Mai is a meter under the flood waters. I thought I would book somewhere nice so that I could finally relax in safety. This was not the place. I wanted to leave early. Nice enough hotel if it was budget priced but I wouldn’t stay here again and wouldn’t recommend to friends or family coming to Chiang Mai.
Pros: -They seem to have a new hotel being built. It looks quite nice and MUCH more worth the high price, let’s see -Well kept and aesthetic -Pool is tranquil -Great blackout curtains -Large almost full sized fridge
Cons: -Not worth the price -Poor location. Cannot walk anywhere without walking on the highway, so dangerous. No buggy or anything to a local 7-11 or anywhere else. Not even any directions to a local mart. -My room was right a few meters away from an other building, they had a full view through my window and I through theirs. -Seems as though many people live there full time. It’s a bit strange. Hardly any locals or expats could afford to live there at the prices they are charging. -Thin thin walls. Can hear people talking, phone alarms and the planes are extremely loud. Like so loud you have to stop talking because you can hear anything. -Truly just nothing around but several abandoned buildings. -Has washing machines but no powder and you cannot buy at the front desk. I was told to go to the mart…way out across and down the highway. So unsafe to walk if you don’t have any transportation. (On Google maps there is a 7-11 quite close, no idea why they didn’t tell me to go there??) -It’s the beginning of busy season and the outside bar was still dusty and not set up at all.
I wouldn’t normally care if this was a budget stay but for the price, you can stay somewhere much much nicer in a better location. I really hope their ‘new’ hotel is much more worth the price. But for this building,...
Read moreI delivered my own parcel and they kept me safely. This was nice service but just the only one thing I appreciated, for more please read below.||||I used to stay at 5 star hotel but this place does not deserve this phrase at all. Firstly, I thought it was cheap price due to COVID-19 situation that's why I decided to stay and finally I knew I was deceived by (some) previous positive feedbacks.||||I booked a room through Agoda and it referred that this is 5 star hotel but it is definitely not! Let's skip about the star quality but overall hospitality quality instead ;||1. Poor guestroom cleanliness : plenty of blood stains on bedding (also seemed on wallpaper I thought) and dust in 'ALMOST' every inch of room, especially found old dirty cotton buds with old tissue paper (might from an old guest) in a restroom bin. Front desk girl staff responded by apology when I informed and 2 maids went to clean by I reminded the problems again they said only (in Thai) "okay, will changed a sheet, also a trash bin."||2. Musty smell from bathroom and bedding.||3 . A lot of house lizard poops at balcony, also balcony door could not be locked properly.||4. A/C was pretty cold That's tge most I loved staying there 2 nights but still had a problem since made noisy all night and my problem solution was turning it off! I could not tell any staff since there was no one by the lobby at night.||5. I did not watch any TV programme since I was afraid that if find any problem from it again because every experiences I faced here were enough!||6. Electric kettle got water inside oh! it was not enough cleaned.||||Thanks god for blessing me faced these experiences! If you find good memmories here is a lucky.||||Further advice from me : please earn a bit more budget to stay in a better...
