Raya Heritage — Hotel in Chiang Mai Province

Booked this hotel after seeing all the good reviews and it turned out to be quite a disappointment.

First of all, after asking for our flight arrival details and acknowledging our request for early check in, they could not entertain this request on arrival. That's OK as we understand this is subject to availability, but their spa was fully booked, and the hotel is in the middle of nowhere (more on this later). Their shuttle inconveniently leaves at 9am, then the next one is at 1pm, so we were trapped there for hours unless you take a taxi out yourself. The situation was made worse when at 2pm (official check in time) the room was still not ready aka they were late. They ended up having to arrange another room for us and judging by the number of dead flies in the shower I'd say this room had been unoccupied for over a day.

The hardware itself was quite nice in design with sleek modern lines and minimalistic decor but the upkeeping was poor - the state of the furnishings looked like the hotel is 5-6 years old, not 1-2 years. The water temperature in the shower also fluctuates itself between hot and freezing cold, and the rain shower head has relatively weak stream.

Another problem with this hotel is the breakfast situation. They have a clear mismatch between the number of tables they have set up for breakfast and the rooms they have. Even though September is not Chiang Mai's peak season, of the two mornings we were here, the breakfast was full and they had to tell guests to come back later. The cutlery was also dirty and had to be changed.

Then there's the housekeeping. We called the front desk to change the sheets before we left in the afternoon, and when we returned at night, no housekeeping was done since apparently we left the DND sign outside - well we did not, so I am not sure what communication error happened. We also took the hotel shuttle out so they must know we have left the premises. Either way, the front desk said housekeeping was not available anymore. After we complained about the situation they did send someone up to change the sheets - well, a "clean pillow” fell flat on the ground and I saw the staff plonk it on the bed. Disgusting.

Regarding the location, the hotel is almost 30 minutes away from the town centre. We did not think it would be an issue until we realised all the spas/shopping/restaurants that offer free transportation only do so if you stay within the centre. The hotel shuttles are also incredibly sparse.

Overall, not the quality you would expect considering this hotel is part of The Leading Hotels Of The World and it's not exactly cheap. Instagramable yes, but not somewhere you would return to/recommend...

The first thing that catches the eye of the whole hotel is the natural color system and various plants! This is a very relaxing place. Away from the hustle and bustle. But it's really far from the city. We stayed in a room on the 3rd floor. The room was large and comfortable with a large balcony. The bed and pillows are also comfortable. The most distinctive feature is that the dressing room is the place where I have seen the most clothes hangers. There are 14 hangers 😀 and the thoughtful design allows girls to hang their long dresses. There is a safe. The hair dryer in the bathroom is a relatively small 1800w but enough, and it also comes with a toothbrush and so on. all kinds of towels are very plentiful. The balcony has staff to help you light mosquito coils and delicate snacks every day. The refrigerator and bar area are both on the balcony. The advantage and the trouble is that you have to open the door in the room to the balcony to get everything you need. There are plenty of sockets in the room and 2 USB are also attached.

The breakfast is also pretty good! We stayed here for three nights, and in room 303, we felt that there were some minor shortcomings...such as the balcony, which should have been a very comfortable place, was also a highlight. But I feel that there is not enough privacy because other guests in the room on the left and right can see your balcony, and there is no problem even stepping over, so there are some safety concerns. And what I don't understand is that the balcony on the 2nd floor has a fan while the room on the 3rd floor has no fan at all. It would be better to increase it. Will make the balcony more comfortable not so hot and less mosquitoes.

Maybe it would be better to plant some plants in the hole of the gate to make up for the safety. Adding some curtains on the balcony part between the two rooms will provide more privacy and the locks on the aluminum doors and windows are not so easy to use. . . Overall we still love it here! We love the design colours and lighting and the friendly service here. It's all...

มีเสน่ห์และลงตัว ยิ่งข้าพเจ้าได้ทราบ เรื่องราวของ สถานที่ต่าง ๆ ของ โรงแรมแห่งนี้ ยิ่งทึ่ง ใน การออกแบบได้อย่างลงตัวและมองเห็นเรื่องราวในอดีตอันงดงามเหล่านั้นได้อย่างชัดเจนครับ บรรยากาศของโรงแรมโดยรอบ อยู่ภายใต้โอบกอดของแมกไม้น้อยใหญ่ นานาพันธุ์ ที่เขียวขจี เหมาะสำหรับ วันพักผ่อนสบายๆ ที่ข้าพเจ้าต้องการเป็นอย่างยิ่งครับ โรงแรมแห่งนี้มีห้องพักเพียงแค่ 38ห้องพัก ครับ ดังนั้นจึงมีความเป็นส่วนตัวครับ ช่วยปลดล็อคพันธนาการแห่งความวุ่นวาย ช่วยเติมเต็มวันพักผ่อนอันแสนมีค่า ให้กับข้าพเจ้าเป็นอย่างยิ่งครับ ตัวอาคารของโรงแรม ออกแบบโดยได้รับแรงบันดาลใจจากชิ้นงานหัตถศิลป์พื้นบ้านของชาวลานนา นำมาประยุกต์ให้มีความร่วมสมัย แต่ยังคงเอกลักษณ์ของเสน่ห์แบบเดิมไว้อยู่ได้แบบลงตัวครับ โรงแรมแห่งนี้ มี 3 ชั้น โดยห้องพักทุกห้องจะ หันด้านหน้าห้องพักไปยังแม่น้ำปิง ซึ่งห้องพักในแต่ละชั้นจะมี สไตล์การออกแบบที่แตกต่างกัน สวยทุกๆแบบห้องพักครับ โดยห้องพักจะมีพื้นที่กว้างมาก โดยห้องพักที่อยู่ชั้นที่2และชั้นที่3 ทุกๆห้องพักจะมีพื้นที่ 75 ตารางเมตร มีระเบียงนั่งเล่นที่ท่านสามารถชมความงดงามของแม่น้ำปิงยามเช้าอันสุดแสนจะงดงามได้ด้วยครับ ส่วนห้องพักชั้นล่างสุด จะมีพื้นที่มากที่สุด ถึง 100 ตารางเมตร จะไม่มีระเบียงนั่งเล่น แต่จะมีสระว่ายน้ำส่วนตัวบริเวณด้านหน้าห้องพักครับ และทุกห้องพักจะมีห้องน้ำขนาดมหึมา มีอ่างอาบน้ำ ครับ การตกแต่งภายในห้องพัก จะนำของใช้ในชีวิตประจำวันของคนท้องถิ่นในอดีตเช่นงานไม้แกะสลัก,เครื่องปั้นดินเผา,ผ้าทอและงานจักรสาน รวมถึง นำฉากกระดาษสา มาประดับตกแต่งได้อย่างลงตัว โทนห้องพักและพื้นที่ต่าง ๆจะเป็นโทนสีขาวและสีครีม เป็นหลักครับ สร้างบรรยากาศร่วมสมัยแบบมีสไตล์ที่เป็นเอกลักษณ์ได้อย่างงดงามครับ โรงแรมแห่งนี้ เค้ามีส่วนร่วมในการผลักดัน งานหัตถศิลป์ชุมชน สู่ความยั่งยืน ด้วยการ สอนชาวท้องถิ่นที่ ทำงานจักรสานและทอผ้า ให้มีการยกระดับชิ้นงานให้มีความทันสมัยแต่ยังคงเอกลักษณ์ แล้วนำชิ้นงานเหล่านั้นมาประดับตกแต่งตามจุดต่างๆ ของโรงแรม ซึ่งในอนาคต เค้าจะเปิด ร้านจำหน่ายผลิตภัณฑ์ชุมชน เพื่อแบ่งปันและกระจายรายได้กลับคืนสู่ชุมชน เพื่อผลักดัน ให้วิถีแห่งงานศิลป์ลานนาเหล่านี้ ยังคงอยู่สืบต่อไปตราบนานเท่านาน ถือว่าเป็นโรงแรมที่มีจุดยืนชัดเจน ครับ โรงแรมแห่งนี้ มีบริการที่ครบวงจร ครับ ไม่ว่าจะเป็น บริการสปา ชื่อว่า "ไอว่าน สปา"สปาของทางโรงแรม จะโดดเด่นด้วยการนวดปรับธาตุทั้ง4 ในร่างกายโดย เจ้าหน้าที่จะ นำกลิ่นของน้ำมันหอมระเหยมาให้ท่านดม ก่อนใช้บริการสปา แล้ว ร่างกายของเราจะบอกท่านเองว่า ท่านอยากจะทำการนวด ด้วยน้ำมันหอมระเหยกลิ่นใด ซึ่งน้ำมันหอมระเหยชนิดต่าง ๆ จะมีศักยภาพในการฟื้นฟู ร่างกายในสรีระที่แตกต่างกันครับ โดยในขั้นตอนการนวด เค้าจะ มุ่งเน้นการบำบัดด้วยศาตร์พื้นเมืองดั้งเดิมครับ สำหรับ ท่านที่ชื่นชอบการดื่มชา โรงแรมแห่งนี้ มีพื้นที่ LAAN CHA TEA TERRACE (ห้องลานชา) ท่านสามารถที่จะนั่งดื่มชา พร้อมกับชมวิวแม่น้ำปิง อันสุดแสนจะโรแมนติก ที่ลานชาแห่งนี้ได้ครับ เค้าจะมีชุดชายามบ่ายให้บริการในราคาชุดละ 990บาทยังไม่รวมค่าเซอร์วิสชาร์ท สำหรับ 2 ท่านครับ ซึ่งท่านสามารถเลือก อาหารคาวได้ 3 ชนิดและของหวานได้ 3 ชนิด แต่ละชนิดจะเสิร์ฟอย่างละ 2 ชิ้น ในเซ็ทถาดไม้ไผ่และรองด้วยใบตองอย่างในเซ็ทที่ข้าพเจ้าสั่งนี้ จะมีของคาว อย่าง"บาเยีย" เป็นถั่วก้อนกลมๆราดด้วยซอสมะขาม, ปีกไก่อบซอสเสฉวน ของหวานจะเป็น แพสชั่นฟรุตพานนาคอตตารัม,ช็อกโกแลตพ๊อต มูสมะพร้าวและถั่ว รวมอยู่ในเซ็ทนี้ครับ โดยเค้าจะเสริฟพร้อม ชาหรือกาแฟสำหรับ 2 ท่าน ครับ ข้าพเจ้า อยากแนะนำ"ชา"ที่เป็นตัว ซิกเนเจอร์ของที่นี่ คือ ชาจากดอกพะยอม ท่านสามารถเลือกได้ว่าอยากดื่มชาแบบร้อนหรือแบบเย็น ครับ โดยที่ ชาชนิดนี้ จะมี รสชาติของความหอมหวานละมุน ในตัวของดอกพะยอมที่เป็นเสน่ห์ที่ชวนหลงใหล ในระหว่างที่ท่านดื่มชา จะมี สายลมที่เต็มไปด้วยอากาศบริสุทธิ์ ของ ยามบ่ายที่พัดผ่านเข้ามาบริเวณลานชา ท่านจะสัมผัสได้ถึงความสดชื่นและสุดแสนจะผ่อนคลาย , มีสระว่ายน้ำหลัก ที่อยู่แนบชิดริมแม่น้ำปิงพื้นที่บริเวณด้านข้างของสระว่ายน้ำเค้าจะปลูก " ต้นใบเตย" เมื่อเวลา ท่าน ว่ายน้ำจะได้กลิ่นหอมสดชื่นของ ใบเตย และได้สัมผัสเหมือนกำลังว่ายน้ำอยู่ใน แม่น้ำปิง เลยครับ มีห้องฟิตเนส และมี ห้องอาหาร BAAN TA LOUNGE & LAWN เป็นเลาจน์ที่บรรยากาศสบายๆ แบบส่วนตัวบริการอาหารว่างและเครื่องดื่มต่างๆ ส่วนห้องอาหารหลัก ชื่อว่า ห้องอาหาร "คุข้าว" ซึ่ง ให้บริการอาหารเช้า รวมถึงอาหารเย็น ที่มีการออกแบบทุกๆเมนูแบบผสมผสาน โดยนำเมนูอาหารลานนา โบราณ จากพื้นที่ต่าง ๆอาทิเช่น อาหารพม่า,อาหารลาว,อาหารสิบสองปันนา และอาหารจีนยูนนาน มาประยุกต์ใหม่ ทำให้ได้รสชาติที่น่าทึ่งอร่อยลงตัวสุดๆครับ ถ้าท่านมาพักที่โรงแรมแห่งนี้ท่านมั่นใจได้ในเรื่องโภชนาการอาหารที่ดีต่อสุขภาพ เพราะพืชผักส่วนใหญ่ที่นำมาประกอบอาหาร เค้าจะปลูกแบบ เกษตรอินทรีย์ เกือบทั้งหมด โดยท่านสามารถเดินไปชมแปลงผักของทางโรงแรมแห่งนี้ได้บริเวณริมแม่น้ำปิง ครับ นอกเหนือจาก มาตรฐานของห้องพักและบริการที่อำนวยความสะดวกต่างๆ แล้วข้าพเจ้า ยังให้เต็มสิบ ในงานด้านบริการด้วยครับ พนักงานทุกๆตำแหน่งหน้าที่ ตั้งแต่ เจ้าหน้าที่ดูแลสวน จนถึง พนักงานต้อนรับ และเจ้าหน้าที่ทุกๆฝ่าย ยิ้มแย้มแจ่มใสเป็นกันเองคอยอำนวยความสะดวกให้อย่างเอ็กซ์คลูซีฟ ข้าพเจ้า สัมผัสได้ถึงความอบอุ่นและเป็นกันเอง แต่มีความนอบน้อม ซึ่งงานบริการที่ดีเยี่ยมของพนักงานทุกๆหน้าที่ จะสามารถทำหน้าที่ได้แบบนี้ ย่อมเกิดจากการบริหารจัดการบุคลากรที่มีคุณภาพ จึงทำให้พนักงานทุกๆท่านทำงานด้วยใจรักและใส่ใจในหน้าที่อย่างยอดเยี่ยม เป็นความประทับใจ ที่ยิ่งทำให้ข้าพเจ้า หลงรัก โรงแรมแห่งนี้ อย่างเต็มเปี่ยม และถ้ามีโอกาสเดินทางมาเที่ยวจังหวัดเชียงใหม่ ข้าพเจ้าจะเดินทางมาพักที่โรงแรมแห่งนี้ อีก...
