Kora Beach Resort Phuket — Hotel in Choeng Thale

Dissapointing!

We travel a lot, but this hotel was below any expectations. We knew it was in a soft opening phase since we booked it, however, there were a lot of other aspects that made our stay regretable. Starting with the fact the we booked a pool access room, specifically asking them and we even had their confirmation, that we didn't want a sea view room, which actually involved a room right at the main street. When we arrived at the location, we received the exact type of room we didn't want, a so called "sea view" room - which actually means at the main road - very noisy. They said they didn't have any other option, that we should try in the next following days, because they were fully booked. One hour later, and in the meantime we were trying to find another hotel to move to, they managed to find a solution and give us the room we had booked and paid for. The main pool doesn't provide any entertainment, that feeling is that of an apart-hotel, not a leisure resort. There is NO Shower at all at any of the pools!! Unacceptable for a 5 star hotel. There is also no place where you candwash your feet from coming from the beach - also unacceptable for a BEACH Resort! When we asked about this, they said they never thought about this. OMG! The attitude of the staff ( most of them, not all ) is definitely not what we are used to in Thailand. We didn't buy the breakfast service, since we don't eat in the morning, but we bought coffee from the pool bar every day. Imagine they don't have a real espresso machine. They get the coffee machine from the breakfast restaurant and bring it to the pool bar. So, the coffee is, as you might imagine, awful. However, we had to pay the price of 2 Starbucks cappucinos for one awful coffee, so very expensive. Even so, we couldn't order this awful coffee until 11am, when they brought the machine from the breakfast restaurant. Does this sound like a 5 star beach resort ? The feeling you get in this hotel is much like an apart hotel. You don't have the feeling of a beach resort. It doesn't compare to other resorts we had previously stayed in Phuket, like Saii or Dusit Thani ( same budget, but the quality of their services is incomparable and the location also is much much better ). Their prices are extremely high for what they offer, even at the restaurant. If you want to use the beach near the hotel, there are no sunbeds, but they do give you a sun mat. However, they literally stalk you daily to bring it back and you would expect that next day they clean those mats. well, not really. They gave us dirty mats, used by other people the previous days and full of sand. In the end, since our flight was late in the evening, we asked them, from the beginning to have a late check out, and of course, to pay for this service. As you might expect, this was not possible, they couldn't provide this service, as they were fully booked, but they made us ask every day for this, to check if there was any room checking out - as if they couldn't see this information in their platform.

Overall, we were dissapointed with this experience - definitely wouln't recommend it and we will definitely not return. It's not worth the money, so please search for other alternatives in the...

A Fantastic Stay at Kora Beach Resort!

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Kora Beach Resort in Phuket, and I couldn’t be happier with my experience. From the moment I arrived, I was impressed by the warm and friendly welcome from the staff. Every team member was incredibly helpful, attentive, and always eager to ensure my stay was perfect.

The hotel itself was spotless — everything was immaculately clean and well-maintained, which made my stay all the more comfortable. The facilities were in excellent condition, and I felt completely relaxed throughout my visit.

Overall, my experience at Kora Beach Resort exceeded my expectations. The staff’s hospitality, the clean and well-kept facilities, and the prime location made this stay unforgettable. I will definitely be returning the next time I visit Phuket, and I highly recommend this resort to anyone looking for a memorable and enjoyable stay.
