Been coming here every year except Covid-19 time. Before I mentioned the good sides of this hotel, I'm going to list some of things that need improvements. The road that leads to the hotel need street lights since there are none. Try to get to the hotel at night time from the main road, it will be complete darkness in the middle of mountain jungle. I think the hotel lobby is face of the hotel and sets the impression of the overall hotel atmosphere to guests and visitors but it's showing its ages with water damaged wooden roof and tiles. I agree with some of reviews regarding conditions of facilities and rooms. Even though the hotel is rated 5-star, they need to fix the rooms and facilities ASAP. It's showing its ages. In-suite pool tiles are missing and falling off also some of the pool lights are not working and in-suite lights as well. The in-suite pool chairs are old and water damged and need to change. The in-suite wooden floor are chipped, bent and gapped especially near the shower area and any place water may be spilled. The water quality of the in-suite is questionable. If you try to wash some cloth especially white t-shirt under the running facet for a while, the shirt catches some debris that looks like fine sand or rust from pipes. AC vents are noisy but works well. The bed sheets are nice quality and fresh but inner comforter need change since clumps are noticeable. The tiles near bedroom headboard and other in-suite tiles are chipped, cracked and showing its ages. FYI this is not limited to 1 rooms specifically since I've stayed in differnt rooms. Overall rooms need major renovation ASAP. Some rooms doesn't offer much privacy. If you want more privacy, try to get a room on east side. Need improvements on the room service menu and breakfast selections. I had breakfasts every morning for 9 days staright but the menu didn't change much. The private beach need major cleanning since there are a lot of washed up seaweeds, trash, and sharp stones that can hurt bare foots. I'm aware that every morning, staff cleans the beach but doesn't do a good job cleaning fully. Don't expect picture-perfect white sandy beach yet. I only mentioned these short comings because the hotel supposed to be 5-star Hotel. If this was 3 and/or 4 star hotel, I wouldn't care less and not nitpicking. Now for the good sides of the hotel. If you want quite, private and relax hotel, this is the ONE hotel in Phuket you want to stay in. Forget other 5-star hotels in Phuket, this is the hotel you want to stay and keep coming back. The design and overall layout of the hotel is top tier in Phuket. You are literally staying in the middle of mountain jungle and right next to private beach. At hotel, you only hear birds singing and waves hitting beach. You do not hear loud cars, music, people partying at all. The staff are super friendly and professional. Any odd requests and/or help, they try to fulfill them without disappointment and goes beyond expectation. The internet is fast, strong and reliable. The in-suite cleaning is top notch. Daily in-suite refreshments includes different kinds of beers, drinks such as water, juice, and soft pops refill everyday. An In-suite big smart tv with a sound system. The cleanness of the hotel is top notch. They have an EV charger for guests as well. I've seen a wedding held at the hotel's private beach which was amazing in the evening and night time with all the ambiance and lightnings. Many thanks to staff and especially Mink & Tidty for facilitate my needs and make the stay more comfortable. Overall if you are looking for a hotel that offers quite, relax and privacy in Phuket, consider The Naka Phuket on top...
Read moreWe had a great time at the Naka. It is such a beautiful property that is intentionally a bit far from the crazy streets of Phuket, so you can enjoy tranquility and a quiet environment.
We had the beach access pool villa, which was a great choice; more privacy and direct access to the beach. The main restaurant and pool were right next door, so it was a plus. The breakfast was pretty good. They offered a lot of Thai dishes, which I loved. The restaurant for dinner was great, too. The sky bar was incredible with its architecture and views. We didn't use the gym, but it is located at the downstairs of the bar. The service was impeccable. Everyone was very attentive, friendly, and willing to help.
One thing I loved about was their app. You can do anything everything with the app from booking a reservation to requesting housekeeping and ordering a buggy service - because the property is huge you need them to pick you up to get to the lobby to take a Grab go to out. They are very fast to arrive and convenient. In case English or Thai are not your native language, you can choose many other languages that will automatically translate what you write when you chat with the team.
We also rented snorkels to explore the private beach. The water was so warm. We saw many fishes and beautiful coral reefs. The water was shallow, so it felt safe, too. I scratched my knee during snorkling and asked for bandaid and first aid kit via the app. They sent a nurse to take care of my wound, which was an amazing touch. You can also rent kayaks for free. There are many paid and free activities the property offers that you can book via the app.
They offer the sea food grill at the beach so you can enjoy Phuket seafood in a private and romantic setting. In case you are with your loved ones, this is something I highly recommend. We had a great experience.
We had to leave super early in the morning to catch a flight back home. They prepared nice breakfast boxes for us to take. It was a small but sweet thing for them to do to impress the customers.
Make sure you have the bug repellent and/or thin long sleeve shirts & pants because you will get bit by mosquitos. :)
There are a couple of things that they should improve - the matress was sunken in due to aging. It felt more noticeable because the matress was very firm and was not well supported. I could tell where people have been sleeping in. It wasn't the best matress that didn't keep me feeling well rested. While the water pressure for the shower was great, the water filled up at the bottom, which wasn't good. By the last day, it was almost flooding over the shower because the shower drain was clogged. There was some attention to detail to be made in terms of deep cleaning, especially the outdoor jacuzzi area - it was dirty with bugs, so we didn't attempt to use it. I loved how the AC worked so well. Thank God when it is so hot and humid in Phuket. However, it would have been nice to be able to lower the AC to minimum in the bedroom so you dont have to freeze to death while sleeping.
Overall, we had a fantastic time at the...
Read moreI have heard many good things about this hotel so I decided to book it for one night as a surprise birthday present for my parents. What a disappointment. I booked a 2 bedroom pool villa, room 543. In general, the hospitality is just way below par. Definitely not 5 star quality.
Good points: 24/7 shuttle service around resort Amazing views from the master bedroom Good atmosphere at the sky bar Cute birthday cake surprise at sky bar Great cocktails at sky bar Pool area and the private beach is very nice! Breakfast buffet line has a variety of selection (esp for Thai food)
Bad/Improvement points: Check in at 3pm, later than other hotels
Half an hour delay when checking in. Noting in mind that I had requested a ‘Happy Birthday’ letters to be laid out on the bed as a surprise for my parents birthday, they said that it’s taking them more time than expected. We were mislead that the car is coming to pick us up from the pool to our room, and twice we were told to wait with no definite time. Honestly if the staff was honest from the start that we will have a late check in if they arrange this surprise, I would have called it off and we would not have a late check in. I called it off in the end because my parents got mad and the surprise was ruined.
Room was very tired and worn out and the most shocking thing is that the housekeeping did an awful job at cleaning the room. The outdoor jacuzzi area was still dirty, and there was actually a half finished Pepsi bottle in the room, probably from the previous guest, or even the previous previous guest. Also, the mirror doors to the balcony were not wiped properly leaving greases from the previous guests that have been in contact with the mirror. In regards to the bedroom downstairs, the most unacceptable thing was the plastic light cover fell off the light, it seems like all the plastic light cover had fell off previously. The bed has bumps like it was not flipped over, so there was a hole in the bed (old mattress). The AC in the room had loud noises that kept going on and off, disrupting our sleep. They already have 3 hours time span to turnover the room, which is an hour more than the usual hotel standards, and the room turned out to be this way was very disappointing.
The Wifi was very poor, not able to connect to our device
Old structure, needs maintenance. Things like concrete, wooden floors, in room and facilities looks very tired and needs refurbishing.
I have stayed in other hotels in Phuket and around Thailand at this price point and what I got in return was much more impressive and worth it. I am posting this review in the hopes that the hotel will improve for future guests. Since travel has started to return in Thailand, I understand that properties do need a second chance at this. I talked to the assistant GM about these issues, and he acknowledged all of them and said that he will work with the team to get it sorted for future guests. So hopefully, things will turn out ok in...
