We stayed at the Naka Resort in March 2020. We were looking for a small, inexpensive base to allow us to travel about whilst we were in Phuket. ||||The Naka was absolutely perfect for this – not however if you prefer not to use taxis to get about or a hire car/scooter. We hired a scooter from Jane who runs the Naka for 300BHT per day. ||||The pool is quite small, but easily large enough for a cooling dip after a day exploring or at the beach. There’s a shower poolside so you can wash down before you jump in. ||||The gardens around the pool are absolutely beautiful, exotic palms and flowers which attract black squirrels and birds- the bird song is amazing first thing (it doesn’t disturb sleep however).||||The property in on 3 floors, there is no lift. The stairs however aren’t at all steep. ||||Our room on the 2nd floor was more than adequate for the 2 of us. It was very spacious. The bed was clean and comfortable as was the room. ||There was a TV on the wall , mainly US channels . We didn’t use it. There was a hair dryer and tea/coffee making facilities as well as a full size fridge! ||We bought our own refreshments rather than utilise the mini bar. ||You were provided with 2 free bottles of drinking water each day when the maid serviced the room. ||||The shower was clean, hot and powerful. The bathroom did have some courtesy products in it which we didn’t use. ||||There was a large balcony, 2 chairs and a table and the ability to dry clothes on it.||||There was a working safe in the room too. A laundry service is available - there are laundry outlets everywhere in Kamala too- very inexpensive!||||Jane provided beach towels – we used these and dropped them back when we felt they could do with a wash. They are left poolside so everyone can help themselves.||||Breakfast in the communal kitchen area was a buffet with lots of choices. Fresh fruit and juices, water, milk, a coffee machine and tea. Toaster, breads and baked products (assorted) as well as the choice of options for a breakfast-cooked fresh by Jane again. We had no complaints about the breakfast . ||||In the evening we’d ask Jane or another staff member to book a taxi for us to Kamala or Patong etc. They arrived very quickly . It was about 200BHT to Kamala and 300BHT return later in the evening. The taxis are air conditioned but the Tuk Tuks of course are open air.||||There are several supermarkets in Kamala which sell the obvious. The Big C also does take away. There’s lots of markets, street food sellers too as well as numerous bars, restaurants etc. to choose from whatever your taste. You cannot walk into Kamala or Patong. The road isn’t safe on foot. If you want to visit the beautiful beaches – and you should hire a scooter or car or be prepared to pay taxis.||||Visit Surin beach, it’s nicer in my opinion than Kamala. Karon is gorgeous too – eat at Daeng’s beach hut if you go there. Patong, well you have to see the walking street there yourself. Take a trip to see Big Buddah and our, well my highlight was the Green Elephant Sanctuary. It was about £66 each, extraordinary value . The elephants and tourists are NOT exploited unlike other venues who claim to do similar. ||||Food isn’t expensive , but it’s not ridiculously cheap these days either – a large Chang is about 100 BHT. The wine is actually good. If you want a recognisable bottle however be prepared to pay for it. It’s much more expensive. There are cocktails everywhere, they’re cheap but we were cautious about the ice. ||Street food is cheap and very tasty- you have to give it a try . When in Rome etc. || ||Jane is a wonderful host. Her team work hard and the Naka is a delight. We have nothing negative to report only praise and thanks for such a fab stay. It was our second visit to Thailand and by far our favourite. || ||To note depending on your taste/interests Cafe Del Mar Phuket is in Kamala and Fanta Sea too. Both are a taxi ride . Look them up. ||A taxi to the airport was...
Read moreI'm just staying in this hotel and it is awesome. I am here with my family. The pictures of the resort you see in the internet are 100% what reality looks like. Big rooms. TV has english spoken channels and even a movie channel is available. When we arrived our TV was broken but the owner went immediately to buy a new one and installed it within hours. So since we just got a new smart TV and the Wifi is quite strong we even can stream movies from the internet with the phone on the TV. The cleanliness is exceptional. When we arrived i couldn't believe that it is so clean, so i checked everything. I checked the matresses, i wiped higher areas of the room with my fingers which normally are often forgotten by cleaning staff in other hotels but everyting was perfectly clean. I found really nothing to complain about. I think this is the cleanest place on the whole island. We even have a kitchen that is very well equiped and also perfectly clean. Also the bathroom is great with a bathtub and a shower. The staff is very friendly and care about all details. You see that everything is maintained constantly and the owners put a lot of love and effort in their hotel. Here you feel at home without being at home. The pool is great and the rooms are quiet. Breakfast is small but very good. Also other food is great. Great cook. The hotel is not directly at the coast but motorbikes can be rented from the hotel for 250 Bath/day and the next beach is 15 Minutes away. So if you do not mind to hire a motorbike or a car this doesn't matter and you are away from the tourist bunkers. The minibar is well equiped too and prices are low. I stayed at many hotels all over the world and in most of them there was something to complain about, but this one is truly in the top ranks, even when i compare it with 5 star hotels. The value for money is great. I am absolutely happy with my choice and that i didn't care solely about the general star rating. I can recommend this hotel to everyone who doesn't mind not to stay at a hotel directly at the beach.....and no... i am not employed by the hotel to write positive comments in the internet....i am just a 100% satisfied customer from Switzerland. If I would go to Phuket again i would...
Read moreWe only stayed one night here on Nov 2019 cos we already booked another hotel in the busy streets in Patong. I wanted to give it here a try for the last day of our holiday before going back to reality LoL. We just wanted a small hotel and not in big tall buildings. And glad we did cos we want to relax in a quiet area surrounded with plants and nature. This small hidden hotel is lovely with a lovely pool owned by a local family. The owner who attended to us is very nice lady. We requested 2 rooms at the ground floor with my friends near the pool and it was very convenient. The room is spacious and bed is very comfortable with a private patio where you can chill. I suggest if you want to save for taxi, you rent a scooter or get your own transpo if you wanted to go to city center and just stay here. You can reach Bangla road or to busy streets in Patong within 15-30 mins only. We regret we didn't find this place earlier. If you want more on relaxation and less crowds this is the place to be. Will come...
