Baan Karon Hill Phuket — Hotel in Karon

We arrived after travelling for over 9 hours shattered and was told we didn't have a room which we had prepaid on a website for the night the lady said she did email us but difficult to check emails when your travelling by boat and coach. We did check emails and she did email us at 6pm considering we could check in from 2 was a little suspicious. She had arranged for us to stay in a sister hotel about 10 mins away we had no choice really it wasn't too bad but air con didn't work so they gave us a fan not great. The next day we were sent a taxi to collect us should have been 10 turned up at 11 so another 1/2 day wasted. The booking was for a bungalow but didn't get this but the bonus was the view from the room was beautiful the room itself was very dated rips in voiles mould on bathroom door and patched up walls where bedroom light used to be also mixed bedding, no hairdryer,mini bar no coffee facilities all were stated on website. Very disappointing. The hill to the beach and pool was the steepest hill I have ever climbed there was a lift in a tuk tuk which we did use twice the guy complained when we asked him and said to walk but my husband had a swollen foot and struggling to walk so he did give us a lift. The pool was ok lots of cracked tiles and very dated the steps to the beach were quite steep but once there the beach was lovely. The lady was very nice but all a in all this was probably one of the worst hotels we have stayed in...

Please if you are looking at this hotel to stay be aware and do your research. I'm not the one to say bad things about a business, especially when they are trying but this hotel is just not what it looks like in the pictures. We arrived yesterday at 2:30am in the pouring rain, the hotel was closed and after calling them many times they finally answered, dropped us at the room and left. As we were getting ready for bed we noticed blood stains and bedbugs in the bedsheets. Not only that, but we pulled up the mattress to see several roaches running away. Spiders, ants, worms, roaches, bedbugs all kinds of insects. This place is disgusting, dirty, unkept, a health hazard and dangerous! We called again many times and no one answered or helped us. We decided it was best for our family to leave because our well being is more important. The next day we asked for a refund, we booked 2 nights and we were ok to pay for one night even though we did not stay and the answer was no refunds. The people who work at this place is rude and nasty, please avoid this place at all costs! We decided to stay at the Holiday Inn only 8 minutes away, and it was the best decision. The website is an utter misrepresentation of this hotel (if you could call it that). The only true thing is the beautiful view. Rude reception, you have to pay cash for all nights upfront. Room - that is another story. If you stay here make sure you have your own transport (which we luckily had) as they are far away from everything. Our room was dark and dingy and smelled of old urine, aircon did not work, no kettle in room, old box TV with no remote, doors do not lock properly. NO phone in room although room service is advertised, no BBQ area as advertised. Pool is not an infinity pool but an old rundown dirty pool. Booked with Breakfast but was not even asked or advised about this at check in so I cannot give any honest feedback on that. 2 small bottles of water in fridge (was at least a nice fridge :-) ). Absolutely no soundproofing in any of the rooms, we could hear when our neighbours opened a packet of crisps. Please do not waste your money or your precious holiday time at this establishment.
