site is really nicely laid out and well maintained

rooms small but clean and comfortable

staff were friendly and accommodating in that wonderful friendly Thai manner

incredible massages - think one the best i’ve ever had and I’m a seriously fussy MassageB lol

option to arrange bikes, tours, massages, laundry etc on site

few minutes from Charlie beach

lovely location in the forest and near water(we think) so there are a lot of frogs (lots) just a heads up if you’re less a nature baby

unfortunately it rained virtually non stop the time we were there (so obvs not their fault) however this meant everything felt really damp whilst there.

wet room style bathroom that was very slow draining (we had lots of wet feet into the rest of the room) Could really be helpful to put a matt down to absorb excess water. Tiled floor became slippery when wet and we both nearly fall a couple of times. also with humidity and only a fan room it just didn’t improve for long periods of time.

could use a door matt so absorb water on entry to flat. From rain outside to flat with no mat it meant our entrance got super muddy and wet.

we had a few little frogs and things in the room (unsure how they got in to be honest). we aren’t bothered by this but some might be.

oh and wifi even though connected was not providing signal.

for the money value I think you can maybe get a bit better (we saw some seaside options with pools etc for less whilst we were there. Guess it depends whilst there.

A lovely place to stay, less than 5 minutes walk from beautiful Charlie Beach (Haad Farang, Sunset Beach).

We stayed in a very well maintained and spotlessly clean stone AC bungalow. From our balcony we could enjoy the lush surrounding garden. In the morning it was wonderful to wake up to the soothing sound of birds. There were also some monkeys jumping around and we even spotted hornbills in the trees right in front of our room.

The site is spacious and very well looked after. Good breakfasts are served in the nice open restaurant, where also delicious dinners can be prepared. Try the mouthwatering steamed fish with mango sauce!

Mookies Bungalows is run by a sympathetic team of (mainly) women. All the staff are super friendly and helpful. Bicycles and motorcycles are available for rent and of course excursions to the not-to-be-missed Emerald Cave are on offer, as well as excellent massages. Transport to your further destination can be easily arranged here too.

We found Mookies Bungalows to be the perfect place to explore the relaxing island of Koh Mook and even stayed longer than we had originally planned. Definitely would choose to stay here again on...

Mookies in my opinion is the best accomodation for being close to Charlie Beach which is THE location for the island. 4 minutes walk, nice jungle style surroundings, clean open restaurant area. Lovely staff. Basic accomodation but you are very aware of this when you book it as per the price. Room is clean, get the one with aircon 100%. Shower is very weak and the bed is pretty hard but you get what you pay for. Good food offered. A very low key, backpacker style vibe, 90s style holidays with no selfies and instagram idiots, just nice people relaxing. Definitely choose this one if you are researching for accomodation at Charlie Beach. There are a couple even closer but they will be noisy with all the taxis and bikes. Highly recommend as the beach is just divine and is cool to just be down the road from it.||Simply stunning beach and water. You want to spend all day there and with the the heat it's fab to be so close versus needing to get a tuk tuk. Rest of island is lovely but Mookies location is ideal.
