Koh Mook The Home Restaurant — Restaurant in Trang Province

What a wonderful family and restaurant! Firstly the food is really great, well presented and reasonably priced. We had breakfast and dinner there and it was delicious!

But the family who own this restaurant are what make it really special, we were staying in a nearby bungalow and the Home Restaurant provide breakfast, on our last day the family said they were going to the mainland early so they brought us our breakfast to our bungalow before they went! Which was really nice of them.

We also booked a long tail boat trip through them, to take us to Koh Kraden and Emerald Cave and it was just a wonderful well organised day, the lady took us to the boat in her tuktuk and then was there when we landed to take us back to our bungalow, it was just the little things like that which made the day fantastic.

Both her and her husband were so friendly and am sure would do anything to be super helpful to any visitors on the island. Really lovely people.

🍲🥘🥗 We decided to have dinner at this restaurant because of the reviews, but we were quite disappointed for what we got.

We ordered panang curry with beef, deep-fried prawns with two steamed rice and one beer. Panang curry wasn't what I expected as I'm Thai. Clearly, they didn't put enough coconut milk which was wrong. Panang curry is supposed to be creamy and rich not like this. For deep-fried prawn was nice. One more thing, you should be aware of the portion of food in here. They were small portion especially panang curry with beef. They sliced the beef into very tiny pieces some of them were super tiny like two centimeters long. It was expensive if compared to the price which you could get bigger portion in other restaurants in the center area. We needed to fill our stomachs with roti after the dinner.

Service was ok. We waited around 40 mins for the food to arrive. We won't mind to wait if the food is...

Wow oh wow! Quite possibly the best Thai food we ate during 4 weeks of exploring this beautiful country. Served and cooked by two of the hardest working and friendliest people you could hope to meet. Every dish was sensational- the coffee alone should take you there too- thank you for my first proper coffee kick for a while! Juices amazing and beers are COLD! Plus the restaurant was spotlessly clean- cleanest toilets in Thailand!

They also have a stall on Charley beach- again food amazing and fab cocktails!

Loved chatting away to them after our meal- great memories of two wonderful people.

To summarise- incredible food, genuinely friendly service and people, proper coffee and cold beer. I promise you won’t be disappointed.
