Joy Residence — Hotel in Ko Samui

I stayed here for four weeks while I was completing a TEFL course. What an amazing place. Lovely spacious apartment, clean with a beautiful balcony overlooking the mountains. Great pool, nice little restaurant with lovely freshly prepared food and the wifi worked really well. But the most amazing thing about this place is the staff. I really cannot say enough good things about the people who work here. Big hugs to Mama in the kitchen and A at reception, missing you already!!! They are all wonderful people who made me so welcome. I had many good chats to A, she speaks fantastic English and taught me so much about life on Koh Samui. ||Its about 15-20 minutes walk to the beach area and shops but there is a family mart across the road and a nice little bbq place on the corner.||If you can ride a scooter then it might be beneficial and cost effective to rent one, as taxis are very expensive and the local Songthaw do not have a schedule. However, if you ask at reception, the technician will take you most places on the island and he is cheaper...

I stayed at Joy Residence in for a few months and had a great experience. The large studio was comfortable and simply furnished, with a distant water and mountain view. It included a semi-equipped kitchenette and weekly cleaning, which made the stay even more convenient. The service was excellent. Manager Airee is incredibly kind, and her assistant is one of the loveliest and most helpful people I met during my time there. From the cleaning staff to the night guard, everyone was warm and friendly. The location is also ideal—close to grocery stores and restaurants, about a 20-minute walk to the beach, and around 30 minutes to the mall. The large outdoor pool was a wonderful bonus. This place is excellent particularly for longer term residents. I'm half way through a 4 week stay and have a basic but clean and thoroughly acceptable apartment - 1 of about 50 I would say - which is serviced twice a week. Friendly staff who organised my scooter hire (cheap) and will organise the laundry. The swimming pool is great and the photos dont really do it justice so I've attached one of my name. And the best bit? Hardly anyone else uses it! There's also a great poolside restaurant open from breakfast to 9pm serving breakfasts, sandwiches and burgers and authentic Thai food really cheap.
