Worst experience of my more than 2 months of traveling in Thailand. I have been staying from hostels, BBs to 5star hotels but Pyramid Bungalow expect to be awfully treated from the second you meet the staff. No Hospitality what so ever. ||First row bungalow (cross the main street then you have the beach) near the sign of the place was a massage bungalow who pointed inwards further away from the street and beach. Walking and passing several of bungalows between two rows of bungalows trying to find the reception ( with my luggage) there were some persons that saw me but never greeted me (who doesn't greet your guests arriving obviously newcomers to the lodge) Then I asked where is the reception for Pyramid Bungalow? The lady asked annoyed with a frown and surprised "where did you book?" This was apparently the staff member who was going to check me in (what a greeting and first hand impression) I saw her phone with only two names of arrivals and I was one of them. She yelled at a lady (probably asked which bungalow was clean) and pointed to the end bungalow (furthest away from the beach) and said "that's your bungalow you can try and check". I was confused because I booked this because of the Description of the bungalow. Room type was Bungalow - Beachfront with the description ocean view. ||I mentioned this to the lady showed her my confirmation. Then she started arguing and very harshly pointing towards the beach stating "the beach is right there can't you see it?? (Mind you we are on the path in between the rows of bungalows.) I told her and showed my confirmation with pictures that I booked a bungalow with ocean view on the beachfront. But clearly I couldn't get through to her which at this point was extremely frustrating because then she started lying about it was not them who made the description on booking.com(please I have worked 20 years in the hotel business don't start lying). ||In the end I left after only 5 minutes because how could I trust the staff and owners when they greet you like this and lie about the description of their bungalows. They didn't even refund me 50% of the fee.||I moved to Laguna Villa and Samba Victoria next door which had ocean view both from the pool and outdoor areas. But actually they didn't describe the villas with ocean view eventhough you could see the ocean from inside the villa depending on where you...

I'll say it again, even if it says it's a fan, you'll suffocate in the bungalow. The abundance of mosquitoes makes it an ordeal; there's absolutely no mosquito netting in the room and you'll spend the night being woken up and bitten even though you'd closed everything beforehand. And finally, the attitude of the staff is mediocre: they're only nice enough to sell you massages or rent scooters, but once you refuse, the smile disappears immediately. What's more, housekeeping is never done and no bottled water is provided every day....
Read moreIf you want to live more locally but still be comfortable this is a place for you! Owners don't really know English but they are one of the nicest people I met on the island. It is very cheap and you get the entire bungalow to yourself. There is also a porch with a hammock and a wonderful sea view. They also bring you little food presents every now and then (fruits, water and local food) and go out of their way to make you comfortable if you need anything. The only downside - you don't get hot water or a fridge, but for the price it is very well worth it. The beach is two steps away and a lot of cafes...
