We were there three nights. They spent too much money on form over function. There is no refrigerator, no coffee, no hand soap, no tissue. The "industrial design" gave the impression of a prison cell more than an artistic accomplishment. The hallway is concrete with metal roof style accents lining the doorways and giant black cell numbers, but what that does is reflect sound rather than absorb it, which makes the hotel very loud. Random door alarms go off throughout the night. There are no windows except for high in the bathroom. While they've apparently updated rooms to include a sliding metal door to the bathroom, it looks like a cattle chute. Our room smelled strongly of insecticide or something and I developed a rash. The pillows are the thickest I've ever experienced in a hotel. The staff is rather haughty. For example, my daughter, who is half Thai, asked, in Thai, about the prices of the merchandise for sale at the desk. The girl there dismissively tossed her a price sheet and went back to her phone.
When a hotel obviously tries to be pretentious, it makes me critical. I can do without the industrial design and the exposed electrical conduits running all over the place - just give me a fridge and coffee in the room and a comfortable pillow. Breakfast was OK and it was fine for a few nights, but I probably wouldn't stay...
Read moreHello,
I have stayed in this hotel on the 28th- 29th December 2024. The hotel was actually nice, the room was pretty big and the bed was comfortable. We had a good night, the boy who works there at night at the reception is friendly. We tried to check out on the 29th around 08:00-08:30. There was a woman working behind the desk, she had a black ponytail and was Thai. I think she was 40-50 years old. Everything was okay. Out of nowhere she pulled a wet towel out with black ink on it, it looked like BLACK hair dye. She told us that we did damage to the towel and we had to pay. We told her that none of us uses hair dye, I have a buzz cut, my friend is blonde and the other one has a light hair color. Nobody uses black. She kept insisting it was our towel. We told her we never used hotel towels. The towel was wet, we didn’t even shower that morning. We didn’t have time to argue with her, since we had to catch a bus to Donsak. We paid her 350 thb. Please be aware...
Read moreMany positive things to say. For starters, the hotel is very well situated. It is 10-mins away by walk from mostly everything (night market, river side, bus tour agencies, etc.). The room was exceptional for the price : large, clean, including a safe, a large bathroom with towels, soap, shampoo, hot water, a large mirror, and a clean toilet. There's indeed a great sense of "branding" or "hipster vibe" which is appreciated yet can feel overwhelming at times. I tried the breakfast once and wasn't satisfied, so I'd recommend eating out. Finally, the hotel has a café that allows staying, eating, and also working, and trust me, it's an amazing place with music, air conditioner, and a great selection of cakes, teas, and thai food at a decent price. Extremely appreciated: They offer a 1 cake purchased = 1 drink offered coupon upon entry, The rooms are cleaned daily, The WiFi is very good, and there's a strong AC in the room, and there's complimentary water and...
