The Grounds Contemporary — Restaurant in Surat Thani Province

Been here countless. Especially to hold Birthday parties but I went for dinner today and boy let me tell you… NEVER AGAIN. I ordered 2 appetizers and 3 main dish. Wait for literally 2.30hrs while constantly asking the waiters for our food and whether they could check if the food is being cook. Every time they told me they will check then there is nothing happening so we decided to pay for the food then walk out and grab something else. Told the staff to call us when the food is done … no calls. So we went back in and ask again … they came back with 1 pork chop steak which we didn’t order and told us that our food is still NOT BEING COOK which means that our “constantly asking” get nothing done at all. So we asked for a refund and then there comes… 2 main dish. Mistakes happen all the time it’s understandable but 2.30hrs waiting + constantly asking should have prevented that from happening. To be honest, from a restaurant owner to another, someone might need to look into this management issue.

To sum it all up. We order 5 dishes. Wait for 2.3hrs just to get 2 dish and went home with a 500 Baht refund for the food we didn’t get.

No more parties or dinner here...

Great vibes and staff and overall atmosphere. Probably one of the best beef burgers I've ever had. The black bun was new fore and back nice touch too. Prices are good, beef burgers will cost you 249 baht. The smoothies are delicious, very fresh and decorative. The cafe itself is huge and has a lot of attention to detail for decor and design. They open at 6:30 or 7 and close at 4 so get in early so they don't run out of food. Coffee is great too! Overall 5 stars, especially because it's a cafe I'd expect to find in Los Angeles or some other big city. Great...

Nice place for western food in Surat Thani. The restaurant is nicely styled, staff were attentive and food was nicely presented. I had the crispy chicken burger with fries, which was tasty. My friend had salmon pesto pasta (without the salmon, because he’s vegetarian). He said the pasta was good, but a little disappointed that he still paid full price even though he didn’t have any salmon with it. Seems like the restaurant is quite new and they are still learning, but overall...
